Grade 2 listed property set in 20 acres of beautiful countryside. 6 en suite rooms done to a high standard. We have a fantastic restaurant where you can enjoy an evening meal from our select quality menu or why not have a drink in our fully licensed bar. Stay and enjoy . Picton House has a great history and was once a posting house on the stage coach route from London to Tenby. Surrounded by a number of scenic trails and large areas of forestry, such as the deceptively named "Little Pale Wood", were an ideal location for mountain bikers and hikers alike. Secure storage for bikes and gear can be provided onsite.

Detailed Reviews
Lovely hotel with great character! Close enough to the main road to make getting around the area nice and easy. We felt very welcome when we arrived, we were shown to our room (which was nice and private) and given all the key information we needed (wifi password, breakfast time etc.). Breakfast was lovely with a bowl of fresh fruit on the table and a selection of yoghurt and granola available; along with a selection of cooked breakfast options. The room was a good size, with a big window to get plenty of natural light. The en suite had a large freestanding bath and lots of character. The hosts are lovely and gave us lots of tips of things to do in the area. We will definitely be back and would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Four of us (2 couples) stayed at the Picton House Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is set in a small village in rural south west Wales which was excellently situated for us to explore all the wonderful sites in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. This is not a modern hotel, it’s an older, homely property with plenty of charm and character. Easy access and plenty of parking. The hosts were very relaxed and welcoming. Holly helped us with local restaurant recommendations .... we loved Florentinos in Carmarthen! And can also recommend the more local Sporting Chance pub. We had have a very enjoyable stay!!

Stayed for short break to celebrate a friends birthday. Owners and staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Our rooms had been refurbished to an excellent standard with all the modern comforts. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and prepared to suit our timings and at very reasonable costs. The locals use this hotel so need we say more. Evenings were spent chatting to them either in the bar or from the terrace as they passed by. We couldn’t have felt more at home. If we come back to the area Picton will be our first choice.

Arrived about 5/45 after a long journey ready for something to eat
Was shown to our room number one
Walked in and could smell the damp mouldy smell straight away
The bathroom floor was very dirty in fact don’t think the room had been cleaned there was dust on the bed head cobwebs on ceiling dirty carpet with a dark stain .
No towels so i went down to ask for some
Was given one white bath towel and hand towel and one awful pulled grey one which I wouldn’t use
Mentioned about the toiletries as i thought they were what someone had left
One had ÂŁ1 sticker on .I was told these were what they supplied
There was an open dish on top of toilet containing some cotton wool pads and ear buds .no way was i going to use them
Went down for lunch was disappointing
I had like a chicken salad my husband had a burger and a beer i had orange juice there wasn’t a lot of choice on the menu .Cost us £ 41.20 thought it was steep
Went back upstairs and saw how dirty the bathroom was asked the young girl downstairs to please change bath at as i noticed it didn’t look clean and it was wet
I complained about the room again and was told she would get in touch with someone
Looking round the room again i realised i would struggle in the bed it was very low and hard i really didn’t want to stay as the smell had got into my nose but we were both shattered
Went to close the curtains and one of the came away from the runner i pulled it back and discovered the linings were full of mould
By this time i was very upset
My husband asked if i wanted to go somewhere else but i was upset had a headache and said i would stay the night sleep on top of bed and head off next day we had booked for 2 nights
Went down again to complain and asked if there was another room the young man who checked us in said there wasn’t i told him i really didn’t want to stay but was so tired and upset he just said write your complaints down
This is just a shorter summery needless to say I didn’t sleep much all night went downstairs 7/15 and we took our things to the car
We were both hungry and had breakfast as i was told we would have to pay for the night don’t know what they have charged us yet think it was £220 for 2 nights
Showed the young lady and another lady all the things in the room we were complaining about they apologised and we went on our way
Had a rubbish day feeling unwell after being so upset so we came home
Totally ruined our holiday

What a wonderful place this is!! I have just got back from a few days with my partner and we both enjoyed. It is in an excellent location and a very peaceful village .
The staff are so friendly and helpful and always went above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable and happy. The rooms and surroundings were very clean and we were lucky enough to be allowed to bring our pet dog.
The food was served hot and was very tasty. It was lovely to talk to some of the other guests in the dining room. Keep up the excellent work and it was a pleasure staying at this fantastic place.

We stayed here in our campervan on the way to St Davids and the staff were welcoming and the food great. We called ahead to book a table and couldn't fault the food, wine and also a glass of real ale from the barrel. The bar area is cosy and has been refurbished to a high standard, and best of all, they welcome dogs so our little cocker spaniel was able to stay with us in the restaurant for dinner, and was even provided with a blanket! Would definitely come here again, perhaps to stay in the hotel next time!

Very friendly owners and staff. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The breakfast was great and they met all our requests. Laugharne is just a 10min drive and Tenby 25mins. So fairly central if you have a car. We would highly recommend!!!!

We had a lovely couple of nights here recently. Our room was lovely and clean, not overly large, but certainly big enough for us. Our room (3) was facing the road, but there were no traffic issues apart from the occasional tractor which realistically you have to expect seeing as you are in the countryside. The owners and locals were very friendly as were the other members of staff. The meals at breakfast and dinner were really tasty and very reasonably priced. There were some interesting drinks in the small bar Cygnet Gin and a Welsh Vodka to name a couple. The hotel is well located for Laugharne and other tourist areas as well as lovely countryside walks. We will return next time we are staying in the area.

Superb service , personal and beautiful place. I chose this over a more commercial hotel because it is charming, the rooms are so beautifully appointed and the owner makes you feel very comfy. I had a superb evening meal, nice chat with a local guy and you never feel anything is an issue. I slept in a beautiful room and it's a stunning part of Wales to visit. Price was on point .

This gem of a Boutique Hotel is situated just off the A40 near St Clears. With a Gentleman's residence appearance, this propoerty has kept its character throughout. We were greeted with friendliness and warmth from the start. The owners, Gareth and Holly, are fully hands on and their staff are equally welcoming.
We had the Towy Room, which can be Kingsize or Twin. Used by us as a Twin, the beds were very comfortable with excellent bed linen and wonderful pillows. We were in the area during the first week of September and the weather was particularly mild, so we were very glad that the heating was off and so we slept comfortably. The bathroom has an over the bath shower with a very good head.
Although on a B road, there was no traffic noise at night and the gentle sound of the river, flowing through the woodland across the road, was lovely. We slept with the curtains and window open. I also saw a fox strolling along the road in the early hours on my way to the ensuite.
The breakfasts, cooked and served by the owners, was excellent. I can highly recommend the Welsh Breakfast with cockles and laver bread!
We had our evening meals there as well, again with excellent choices and very reasonably priced. The cooking is shared between Holly and their chef.
In the courtyard of the property are very comfortable outside seating and eating areas. The owners are converting the outbuidings to provide further accommodation, but none of this disturbed our stay.
The car park is next to the Hotel and quite secure.
