Stayed 2 nights. Location is ok, in between 2 towns, but I was a little disappointed to see there is nothing in Kilgarvan and needed to take the car for everything , even for dinner. Room was fine. Bathroom as well. I did have trouble with the matress which was somewhat uncomfortable (I could fell the springs) but found an...

We spent 2 nights at Birchwood and we have enjoyed every single moment. Great location, quite, clean and perfect for visiting Ring of Kerry and Beara peninsula. Also the breakfast was great! Fresh stuff and good choices. We were welcomed by a cup of coffee by Tom, the best host you can dream, that also give us the suggestion to...

Tom provided a really great breakfast including fresh orange juice, an Irish Breakfast, a variety of home-baked bread and cakes and fresh fruits as well as a cheese platter. The rooms were very clean and quiet. I would like to spend there some more days!

We stayed two nights at Birchwood while travelling with my family. Tom really was a great host, welcoming us with homemade cakes and always willing to provide useful advices about places to visit. The location is great, too, with a breathtaking view on the mountains. We wish we could have stayed longer there.

On arrival we were greeted by Tom the owner with cups of tea/coffee and homemade cakes which were a daily occurance on arrival back at the B&B. Tom was a wealth of information and made...

We stayed two nights at Birchwood in order to visit the amazing Skellig Rock. Birchwood is a delightful bed-and-breakfast - a lovely house and grounds, beautfiul rooms and a splendid breakfast. Not to mention the most welcome cup of tea and cakes on arrival. Of all the dozen or so bed-and-breakfasts we stayed in over the following two weeks, it...

For me the Birchwood was a true taste of Ireland. Tom has the Irish friendliness that the Irish are so well known for. He helped me locate relatives. He helped me in a "pinch" when I needed a quick gift to bring to someone. The room he gave us had a breathe taking view of the mountains across the room....

The grounds are lovely. The breakfasts are great. Tom makes fresh squeezed orange juice and home made breads. His Irish breakfasts are wonderful. The rooms are large, clean and cheery. Our room had a view of the fields and mountains. Every night we came back from our touring as soon as we walked in the door , Tom offered us...
