We have been here before. We live nearby, so it is one of the few places we can chose for a special treat. This time it was my daughters Birthday. We asked to be in the Pub, as we think the atmosphere there is more friendly. One daughter was fully satisfied with her choice. The other three of us have...

Four of us for Sunday lunch. Nice bar and friendly face upon entering Starters were perfect, pumpkin soup and subtle smoked mackerel for the rest of us. We all had Roast Beef, cooked to perfection with Yorkshire pud loads of veg including a large dish of unctuous cauliflower cheese. Best Lemon tart EVER! and not the usual thin slither.

We stayed two nights in the Vicarage- we had all three rooms so had the run of the place to ourselves. Very comfortable room . One minor point: the saniflo (automatic pump) in our room sounded on its last legs and was very noisy - we have them at home and it desperately needs a service. The food excellent as...

Superb food, nice people, wonderful accommodation (The Vicarage annexe) what more could you want. Meals from Breakfast through to dinner are interesting, beautifully presented and of exceptional quality, flavours to savour and remember. It's a rare thing to come from Cornwall to the Welsh borders and eat the best Cornish Lobster we've ever tasted, truly mouthwateringly good. Similarly, new takes...

We visited this pub with (and as guests of) our friends last Sunday (4th October) to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The whole event was simply splendid - the staff were attentive without being "in your face" (they all had time for some humour, which added to the occasion) - special mention has to go to the very young and totally...

We went because it had a Michelin Star( has it since lost it?) and were extremely impressed with the food and the reasonable prices for what we got. I was dreading pretentiousness, but there was none of that, just really good food -nice beer and fine wine too(though I missed that as I was driving!) Two had lamb, one fish...

We were away for the weekend and friends joined us on Saturday. We opted to stay in the old vicerage, the room was large with great views over the garden. The weather was excellent and Champers in garden was just the ticket. We ate in the resturant on both evenings and the food lived up to it's reputation, soft pink...

This is the third time we have been to The Stagg Inn during a visit to Herefordshire Art Week. It was perhaps even better than previous visits. The welcome and service were friendly and efficient, but most importantly the food was excellent. Top rate local ingredients with some more unusual choices. My wife likes sweetbreads which don't appear too often...

We had heard a lot about the quality of food at the The Stagg Inn and it more than lived up to its reputation. We visited for Sunday lunch and I can honestly say it was one of the best (if not the best) pub Sunday lunch I have had. A little more expensive perhaps than what you could pay...

3rd visit here now. As good as ever. Lovely food, simple but superbly done. Nice friendly relaxed atmosphere and really good service. Highlight was the cheese board and the waiters exceptional knowledge of the cheese! Lucky to have this on our doorstep!

Thank Luke W
