My partner and I stayed here for 10 nights back in December 2021 and I’ve been meaning to post this review as we have not forgotten TP or the amazing time we had there. We went within days of the border being open and they were well prepared and expected us with open arms and a great and heartfelt welcome song. Our first time here did not disappoint and you may think 10 days is too long but after 2 years living in Melbourne Victoria in lockdown, it was the best holiday! We did as little as possible and the horizon spa villa is the best! The food I cannot praise enough, it was so fantastic, every meal was spot on and so delicious, it surprised me that it could be so great on an island in the middle of nowhere. The chefs are to be complimented on their choices, quality and presentation. Each evening was in the chef recommendation and nothing disappointed, seafood abundance too. Colleen and Barry will do anything for you, my partner wanted some new zealand wine so they flew some in for her and I was nervous of what that might cost but it was cheaper than Australia!! They did this for us at no cost and to ensure we didn’t want for anything. As we were the first guests since they reopened, Colleen and her team took their covid safe rules seriously and it was safe, friendly, welcoming, private, relaxing and so amazing. We only left the villa once as we loved hanging around the pool and relaxing, but there are enough day trips to keep you occupied and the spa villa was a great set up! What can I say about the staff….. attentive, professional, respectful of privacy, so friendly and so lovely, Sia, Veronica, Manoa, you made our trip so awesome. You went above and beyond, you are so loyal and nothing was too much trouble, even wearing your masks in the heat and walking up and back the pathways just to make a beautiful flower arrangement at every meal sitting, it was so appreciated by Brenda and I. We lacked for nothing during our time with you. And all the staff we did not meet but keep the gardens looking beautiful, the grounds are spectacular, the Driver, the snorkel guide, the housekeeping, you all are to be commended on your hard working ethic and loyalty to TP. Colleen and Barry you are onto a winner with TP, we will absolutely be back and we have not forgotten this awesome place! Thank you so much 🙏😊…
This is my husband and my 3rd trip to Taveuni in a span of 18 years. This time we traveled with our 12 year old daughter and another couple of good friends. The Horizon villa at Taveuni palms was great and we all had plenty of room and privacy. Our daughter took the separate “teen” bure which was spacious and comfortable. The main house was laid out well and had lots of great lounge areas. The beach bed was my favorite place to hide out from the afternoon sun which can be a little intense. What really makes this place over the top though is the hospitality of the staff and owners. It’s almost like you think of something and it appears. Morning cafe lattes were the best and appeared at the exact moment you wanted one. Fresh fruit smoothies were delectable and every morsel of food we had was an experience in itself. Sia, Veronica, Anna, Manoa and the rest of the team made sure we were always happy and content and we were greeted every time we returned from a dive adventure or other excursion with smiles and cold ice water. A big Vinaka to Colleen and Barry and your very special team At the palms who truly feel like family now. We’ll be back!!…
Seem as though I’ve been to TP four times in as many years. TP is original, lovely, relaxing and the food is awesome. Colleen and Barry have a great staff that will take care of your needs. If you want beauty, nice beach, privacy and world class food, YP will make your dreams come true. I’ll be back ASAP and so should you. George Niblock Fayetteville, AR
We could hardly believe it Fiji had opened up and we were once again able to visit our island paradise Taveuni Palms. After an absence of 2 years we received a wonderful warm welcome and it was lovely to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Colleen and Barry (the owners) are to be highly commended for managing the resort through the turbulent times that we have gone through recently. The staff are some of the friendliest Fijians you will meet and go above and beyond their duty to ensure your stay is memorable. Thanks to Sia, Veronika, Manoa and Lisa. The Chefts, having tried out new dishes during the closure, are worthy of any 5 star dining. Thanks Sunila (especially for the lovely chocolate cake), Boa and Ishi. Thanks also to the staff you hardly see who keep the grounds in all their splendour. I could write volumes about Taveuni Palms, how beautiful the Villas are, how cosy the bed is, how you can do as little or as much as you want (they have organized some fabulous day tours), but you can read as many reviews as you like but will only experience the magic of Taveuni Palms by going there yourself. Treat yourself - This was our 4th visit and we are already planning our 5th trip.…
There were so many incredible experiences at this place I genuinely don't know where to start... LOVED * The welcoming staff who could not do enough for us. Sia and Manoa for their outstanding service and warm welcomes after a day out. Always there to sort us out with a cocktail on arrival back! Veronika and Wati for their excellent massages and forcing us to switch off into relaxed bliss. * The food. Wow. Every night was something different. From fresh caught lobster to the best cooked beef I have ever had to home made sorbet the 4 course dinner was the best. Breakfast and lunch were equally delicious and fresh - Surnila you are a master chef - thank you for showing us how to make the ceviche! * The excursions. Mind blowing. Honestly I'll never forget them. Swimming in a waterfall had to be the highlight for me, but Rainbow Reef was the best snorkeling I've ever done. Even the Great Barrier Reef was not as great when you compare the two. Thank you to our gorgeous guide Duncan for making every trip special (still can't believe he jumped off the 10m waterfall??) and to Barry for cracking us all up while driving us out to the reef. You were both a pleasure to have lunch with. * The accomodation. The view from the Horizon Villa has surely got to be the best view in all of Fiji. I could stare at that sunset for hours. Luckily there are plenty of lounges to do it from! The pool was great, beds were super comfortable and I loved that we could have dinner in different locations each night. All had their own special ambience. * The hosts. Thanks Barry for giving us a wonderful day on the Reef and thanks Colleen for coordinating the entire holiday including our very fun night with Duncan and Fure sampling Barry's personal stash of Kava! That was a "cultural" highlight ;-) DIDN'T LIKE * Nothing to see here ADVICE FOR FUTURE TRAVELLERS * For anyone going snorkeling - don't forget to apply sun cream at least 2 times throughout the day (at least). Especially on the backs of your legs, your bottom (can't stress this one enough) and your lips. I didn't think of that and the Fiji sun is same as Aussie sun. Thankfully Wati and Veronika were there to give us all Dilo wraps to sooth the skin afterwards. * Other than that switch off and enjoy!…
I stayed at Taveuni Palms with 3 girlfriends for 4 nights in March. I've travelled the world but had not been to Fiji. I was seriously impressed! We had a brilliant holiday. Colleen arranged a day trip for us each day. We walked the Lavena Coast, snorkeled on Rainbow Reef, went down a natural water slide and had a champagne lunch on a private island. We had massages and facials in the resort each afternoon, followed by cocktails by the pool and dinner on the main deck or by the sea. The food was fantastic, the yellow fin tuna sashimi was a highlight as was the white chocolate mousse. The staff made the stay truly special, a big thank you to Sia, Manoa, Veronika, Wati and Duncan. Colleen and Barry have created a magical place. They are welcoming, knowledgeable and fun hosts. Thank you for helping us create such amazing memories. I will definitely be back!!…
We have explored the world with our kids and this was by far the most relaxing vacation we have ever experienced because of the owners and staff at Taveuni Palms. We stayed in the Horizon Villa and were spoiled with chef-prepared meals that were served whenever and wherever we wanted , daily massages in the villa, dips in the pool and extraordinary sunsets. For each meal, the table was set with fresh island flowers, seashells, candles and lovely placemats. The biggest decision of the day was what to eat for breakfast and lunch (wahoo fish tacos with the amazing papaya salsa); we asked them to surprise us with dinner and they never failed with a four course meal better than any restaurant. We loved all of the staff (Veronica, Duncan, Wattey, Manu) but it was Sia who took such good care of us that we considered her family by the end of our stay. We must give a special thanks to owners Colleen and Barry for all their help and hospitality at what should be a 7-star resort. What is most amazing is that a category 5 cyclone blew into the region the day after we arrived and we barely noticed it! We are already planning our next visit and would recommend anyone traveling to Fiji to stay at Taveuni Palms. Vinaka!…
Luxurious bliss. This was our fourth trip to Fiji and I can’t believe we hadn’t stayed at Taveuni Palms Resort until now. Gorgeous private setting. Five-star service from the kindest staff I’ve ever met. Delicious food that included freshly baked croissants, homemade coconut ice cream, four-course dinners beautifully set up wherever we wanted on the property, and just about anything we requested. Our villa was situated on its own acre of property with multiple decks, our own pool, and views you only dream of. Fresh flowers showed up daily. The beach villa itself was spacious, clean, and provided for all our needs from the outdoor showers to the open living and dining area to the kitchen and wrap-around deck. So many places to lounge and relax and always with a view of the ocean and swaying palm trees. We enjoyed several excursions from the hike to Buoma waterfall where we leapt off the cliff and landed in the cool waters below to a day of snorkeling Rainbow Reef and a decadent picnic on an uninhabited beach. And we were lucky to see pods of dolphins many times during our stay including while snorkeling the reef just off our villa. It if weren’t for Covid I would have hugged every single one of the staff and the fantastic owners, Colleen and Barry. We will be back.…
We stayed in the Beach Villa for a week. The staff were attentive but unobtrusive. The food was fresh and just divine. Nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week and undoubtedly we will return. For us it was perfect. We could not have asked for anything more. A huge rap, but this must be on your to do list
I have had the good fortune of staying at many beautiful places around the world. Do not even think twice about booking your stay at this magical place. If visiting Taveuni, you must stay here. The small resort is like staying at your own private beach home with all of the amenities you could ask for and more, complete with a friendly, super attentive staff that you will adore. Kathleen and her husband are lovable souls who manage the place and they are truly wonderful hosts who will make sure your every need is met. The food is superb and brought to your villa at the time of your choosing. The carefully selected wine is kept chilled in the fridge and replenished promptly. They keep the fridge stocked with most everything one could wish for. They are extremely attentive to detail, bringing yoga mats, snorkeling equipment, kayaks and paddle boards to you at your instant request. There are various excursions to the local villages, gorgeous waterfalls, a private beach, and many snorkeling opportunities. They can also arrange spectacular scuba dives with a professional and highly experienced local outfitter. My husband and I stayed here for a few days before meeting our adult children in Tonga. After we didn’t see many whales in Tonga, we promptly arranged to fly back to this resort and we all stayed for a few more days. We were welcomed again like family. I love this place. Literally cried when I left the first time and the second time!…
