This was our first time to Costa Rica and we will be back to Hotel Luna Azul to visit Rolf, Andreas, Fino along with the rest of the pleasant smiling Luna Azul staff. We actually read the reviews on trip advisor and booked it from reading them alone, you have to go, then you get what guest are talking about,...

I meant to write a review since my trip last March and finally get around to it. Rolf and Andreas are great hosts and own a gem in a special place. If you want lots of action, not your place, but if you want to relax and listen to the monkeys howl, stay here. Breakfast and dinner are also great...

At the end of a 3 week trip to Costa Rica we spent 5 nights in the tastefully appointed Parrot room. Excellent standards prevail at the Luna Azul, from the design, furnishings, cleanliness and food through to the quality of service from the genial hosts Rolf and Andreas, ably assisted by resident professional tail wagger Fino. All other staff were...

We wanted to check out the Nosara area and booked the Luna Azul for 3 Nights. We liked the concept of this small boutique hotel with it`s lovely garden, relaxed atmosphere, clean rooms (with water pressured showers :-) ) and the personal touch of the owners. They made our stay even more relaxed and gave us some useful suggestions for...

Beautiful place, friendly staff, immaculately clean. Not great value, though. For what we paid, we were expecting much more. The roads are very rough and you need to drive at least 30 minutes to get to any beach or area of interest. If you are interested in relaxing by the pool or on your deck, you will enjoy the experience,...

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your visit at our hotel and your review. 151 of 159 reviewers so far gave us a 5 star „excellent“ rating. You also found our hotel beautiful, your personal expectations were not met though. Why ? Roads : The roads are indeed very rough, you are right. The main pacific coastal road (Samara...

We spent one night at Hotel Luna Azul and wished we could have stayed longer. Excellent facility. We enjoyed our room with a deck overlooking the ocean and had a great Valentines Day dinner. The hosts were helpful. The only downsides are the roads. We drove which may have been a mistake. The road from Samara through Nosara along the...

Our stay at Luna Azul was a beautiful oasis in our busy Costa Rica trip. The setting, the hosts, the phenomenal meals, were all far more than we expected. When I think back on our Costa Rican travels, Luna Azul was my favorite hotel.

While I have never had the pleasure of staying in one of the rooms at this beautiful little boutique hotel, I have enjoyed numerous meals at its wonderful restaurant the past several years during our visits to the area. In fact, it was my choice as the perfect place to celebrate my 50th birthday! It is without a question the...

The hotel lies on a hill a few kilometres above the Ostional coast. It consists of a main building and several guest cottages arranged on the hill, providing privacy. The rooms are furnished quite simply; our deck was facing the jungle; toilet and shower are outdoors, but everything is unexposed to views from the outside. The main building has a...

I chose this hotel due to favorable reviews on trip advisor and its location near the Turtle nesting beach. It was a magnificent experience. Rolf was an amazing host. I think the guy speaks at least 5 languages fluently. How is that even possible? Anyway the guests when we were there seemed to be mostly European families, though I believe...
