The pictures online do not reflect the hotel, The staff are great from checkin to checkout including cleaners :) The hallways when getting off lifts you can straight away smell the musty smell from the old dirty carpet and the dust everywhere ( would be better ripping it all up including rooms and laying floorboards if the upkeep of the carpets cant be met. The rooms need new carpet in all they are disgusting or just do plain floorboards for easy cleaning. The showers need proper cleans because of mould and built up scum in grout. Toilets are perfect! BBQ needs cooking utensils ( even if they are chained to the BBQ) and bins. there is nowhere in the hotel to get rid of any rubbish and that was especially hard when it came to us using the BBQ one night while staying over the week. We had two rooms for a weeks stay and the rooms were serviced daily which was great! They are only getting quick wipe overs because i'm assuming it is a big hotel and not enough cleaners they seemed to be run off their feet, The were always lovely and i did feel for them having to try and do it all when they cant be doing full cleans which really needs to be done so then they can keep them up to the standards they should be kept at. We did not pick the cheapest hotel to stay for our week in Sydney and the money we did pay i honestly didn't expect the carpets in the rooms to be the way they were or the dirty showers. We would 100% stay again if the rooms were updated ( flooring ) and the showers given a proper clean. The location of the hotel is great being so close to the CBD and was great for us for the NYE fireworks going to and from. The staff are a credit to this hotel for sure and hopefully the owners read these reviews and maybe have a look into the flooring and the deep cleaning needed in the showers so its easier for their cleaners to upkeep and nicer for the visitors.

This place is not the fanciest hotel you could stay at, but it is far from the most expensive also. This place is GREAT value for money. It's slightly awkward getting in and out of as it's on the highway and you have to turn around and all, but it is within walking distance to Artarmon train station, there are bus stops out the front, and close enough to catch the wonderful cab services who were very courteous taking us to our dinner engagements.
As mentioned it's not the fanciest hotel, but it is clean, in good repair, the lobby is inviting, and key pick-up was easy. That I suppose is the new way with COVID. Reception shuts at 1:00PM, the doors lock then, and the restaurant is closed. But none of these things were any issue at all for us.

After paying $160 for a basic room my expecations were not high.

However I was blown away by the quality of the room. It was clean and very comfortable. The shower was big and the views amazing.

Will return.

Well appointed room, microwave and modern bathroom, very quiet and pleasant view with ample free parking.
But poor housekeeping, furnishings were stained, mould in the shower and a wad of hair on the shower floor from a previous occupant so shower had obviously not been cleaned. The TV pixelated, the wifi was so slow we couldn’t use it. There was a dine in menu in the room but the kitchen was not operating and no breakfast available. If you stay bring your own pillows.
Could be nice with a good clean and upgrade.

Really I can't say anything bad about this hotel. It had everything I needed during my stay while caring for family in the hospital up the road from the hotel. 20 minute train ride to the city, free parking and a short walk to the Great Northern Hotel. I stayed here for 5 nights and made use of the gym facilities, laundry and a visit to the pool if I felt inclined. Friendly and helpful staff and the hotel is well kept, clean and tidy.

What an extreme disappointment and they should be ashamed to place the name 'Royal' to the heading. The room was basic and the windows rattled with wind keeping us awake all night. The bed was lumpy and the pillows provided were not fit to sleep on. We spent two evening there and the we felt totally un-rested at the end of our weekend break. The hotel staff were totally disinterested and provided little or no support, and appeared to be more interested in watching something on their computer. The cleanliness of the entire building has a lot to be desired. The carpets are filthy, the bathrooms are not clean and the overall presentation is dated. Situated on the busy Pacific Highway it is close to shopping centres and is a healthy walk to nearby train stations and shopping centres.

The hotel was nice well located the room was clean but the staff was not polite. After 10h driving we were expected at least to see a smile on their face ( especially from the night auditor) Not far from city by car.

Very unwelcoming staff when we arrived, uncomfortable atmosphere to the place..cold, dark corridors and room not much better. The staff continued to be unhelpful throughout our stay. The big TV was their only redeeming feature but we weren't on holidays to watch TV. Nicer hotels in same vicinity.

Lift was broken on arrival and no assistance was offered to customers at all with luggages on a 6 storey high building. Facilities were fair/poor for a hotel. Air conditioning was not working properly. Receptionist was polite but seemed helpless due to lack of staffing. Overall experience was disappointing. Would not recommended if a hotel experience was expected.

Response from Rachel D, Manager at Royal Pacific Hotel

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. You are right - as we were not expecting the elevator to break down on a Public Holiday - Good Friday, we were not staffed to cope with carrying luggage upstairs. However an additional staff member was brought in and moved all luggage for guests from 3pm. People who arrived in the 30-40 minutes prior to this, were welcome to leave luggage at reception. Unfortunately, we are not experts in elevators and were completely at the mercy of the technicians - who needed to attend emergency calls first. Fortunately - as it was a rarity and it was repaired the same day, guests were incredibly understanding. I apologise that you were inconvenienced. If you could let us know what room had a problem with the Airconditioner, it would be appreciated. No airconditioning issue has reported to the hotel. During last months service, all were working correctly - so this must be a recent development. We would love to get this checked for future guests. Regards Rachel

I spent a week here because I was attending a conference on the ground floor. Very very ordinary hotel. I have stayed at better roadside motels. It is situated an the very busy Pacific Hwy. Taxis are reluctant to stop there because it is difficult to turn in (the receptionist even told me this). The restaurant isnt open every night so finding a meal meant walking down the road to choose from KFC or 7Eleven. No balconies in any rooms, so if you are a smoker be prepared to catch the slow elevator to go outside for a smoke. WIFI was patchy at best. TV reception was fuzzy - didnt even have all of the free to air digital stations. Foxtel was apparently available but non existent. Reception staff spend their days looking down at their computer screens. Rooms are tiny. Tiny. Not the most homely or comfortable place to spend a week away.
