This was a lovely old hotel. Our room was comfortable although a little musty smelling at first. But the AC worked and the shower was warm. The beds were comfortable. Our meals were excellent and we found the staff to be warm and accommodating. We even had a salsa lesson from the charming and energetic instructor. For me the very...

We drove a long way to go to the spa, the LP wrote this was possible... It was not open for tourists. That was a dissappointment. The hotel looked clean en fresh from the outside. The walls on the inside however of the room were moldy and after a long journey I was really looking forward to a hot shower.......

Our room at this hotel was musty and mouldy with no toilet seat, no hot water, no shower pressure. What a dump. Avoid if you can, though there are limited options in this area - make it a day trip. Food was plain, boring and not as plentiful as most of the Casa Particulars in which we stayed.

Our group of birders stayed in this hotel because of the location near La Guira Park, the best place to find certain Cuban species. It is also convenient to Cueva de Portales, Che Guevera's HQ during the missile crisis. The property is easily sixty or more years old and has had minimal updating. But that's okay with me--when I travel...

This hotel was built before the Cuban Revolution and to be fair it probably hasn't received a lick of paint since! Rooms are pretty grubby. Only hand towels were provided in the bathrooms and were so stained and disgusting that we took them down to reception to change them (and to get some bigger towels). No plugs in the bathroom....

We stayed at the Islazul Hotel Mirador and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The rooms were very basic but anything we asked for was attended to immediately and we were fine. The food here is the outstanding point! Amazing local Cuban food, despite the limited choice! We used the Mirador as a base for bird watching and it was in...

If you love to party till the early hours, then this could be the place for you. If you value a good night’s sleep, then avoid Saturday nights as very loud music goes on till 2 am. That said, Room 23, a standard room with a view over the car park and towards nearby La Guira National Park was quite...

We stayed for two fairly comfortable nights here. The rooms was fine and the bathroom was OK when there was water (an intermittent problem in the area) although a loo seat might have been a nice touch. There was music playing continually in the pool area as this is a hotel that the locals enjoy visiting to relax around during...

We stayed in this place with a G Adventures group. The linen and towels weren't clean but then the bathrooms weren't either! The bar and pool were full of locals and the music was loud. The bar only did one set menu for $14 which was too expensive for us. There is nothing to do in the area and it's...

Not bad by Cuban standards, the swimming pool was full of locals and the food nothing to write home about. Breakfast was served in a restaurant overlooking the pool and evening meals were by the pool, not much of a selection from either venue.
