We returned to Concordia for the first time post Hurricane.

Good: beautiful and very reasonably priced. Picture postcard perfect, serene, incredible views. It’s a hike to salt pond but lovely beach, great snorkeling with rays and sea turtles

Bad: twin bed mattress was too thin to sleep on. Management was nice but fairly absent. We had to ask for 3 towels (given 1 for 3 people) and bedsheets and a key to the room the day after check-in. no information on anything, luckily we already knew the area/cabins etc. we helped other bewildered guests. The restaurant may be opening but it’s still irregular. It would be a big plus if it were as good as before.

It’s a work in progress. Enjoy the view. Don’t expect service to be offered. They help when they can.

It was the only place we could find that wasn’t $250+ a nite. Thought we’d be adventurous. They upgraded us to a studio from a tent. Yay we thought. Ran out of water. Called the only # avail only to get the rudest person from Wyoming…who was no help and hung up on me. Come to find out we were the only 2 girls there that night! No water. No one to call in an emergency! And a huge rain storm to boot! Cool concept but they don’t have there s**t together. The maintenance guy was awesome the next day. Got us set up with water. It’s remote. Beautiful view. But crappy customer service via email and phone. Pictures posted are NOT current on their website.

I like the places especially the view from here to the National Park is just amazing the way it is! The wood tent I stayed at has everything I needed and the patio was nice. The only complaint is that the wood tent would shake when the wind is too heavy.

The hotel staffs are friendly, but the restaurants are not opened yet. The road is rough so be sure to drive SUV or Jeep so your rental car wouldn't get hurt.

We stayed for three nights (2 adults), and we both thought it was the perfect place for us, especially for the price. Peaceful, remote yet new/modern, and absolutely breathtaking views of two bays. Claudia runs the show there and is fabulous. Without her, our trip would have been very lacking (due to my lack of preparation). She's hilarious and super helpful.

We loved our "tent". It was more than enough space, had plenty of air flow throughout, and was very clean. The kitchenette was very handy, as we prepared lunches to take on our hikes. There were quite a few stairs to reach our tent, but it was WELL worth it because nothing beat our view. We spent every early morning and night sitting on the covered porch area listening to the waves. It was nothing short of perfect for us.

One early morning we hiked down to Salt Pond and did the Ram Trail hike, both of which are accessible on foot from the resort.

It felt great to enjoy such beauty and not leaving such a large footprint while doing it. We will be back for sure

This remotely located treehouse-like cabin was super clean with hot water and very cold A/C. We were booked in a tent but were generously upgraded to cottage A15 by the owner in Wyoming. We loved the convenient location near Ram’s Head and Salt Pond beach. The hike to see the sunset was unparalleled. Our amazing dinner was served roadside at the “Happy Place.” The staff members were very kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Great memories were made!

This company is absolutely horrible stay away. After booking on Expedia they called me seven days prior to my trip to collect payment even though Expedia said that it would be collected at the property. We arrive too late to the island on the first night when we were supposed to check in and they offered no help or anything for the night that we missed and had to pay at another hotel. When we finally arrive to the property it was without power and I was under the impression that the unit had at least an AC unit since this is a very warm area and time of year. We were unable to stay due to a member of my party having a medical Issues related to asthma and heat stroke. They refused to refund us for a week stay this is unacceptable STAY AWAY!!!!

Our family stayed at Concordia during a quick jaunt to St. John, in one of their eco tents after a fortuitous run-in at the front desk. The tent, which is more like a cabin, and stocked with a fridge, hot plate, pot, pan, dishes, and utensils, in addition to running water opened to gorgeous views of Salt Pond Bay.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, as we planned our visit, and gave us their very own recommendations for local food (check out the Friendly Spot!)
Its proximity to the beach, just down a small nature trail which led to additional trailheads, including Ram’s Head was incredibly convenient.
In addition, we found snorkeling in the bay fruitful, and saw plenty of rays, turtles, and fish (especially if you are adventurous enough to swim out to some of the rockier areas beyond the boats). While we did not take them up on this, the resort also keeps snorkeling equipment on site.
We had a wonderful time, and would be happy to stay again.

As of 2024, ownership has changed hands and it’s a mess.

We booked a treehouse room at Concordia Eco-Lodge for three nights (December 23-26) in October, anticipating a relaxing and unique stay. Our experience was, unfortunately, the complete opposite.

Upon arrival at 4 PM on December 23rd, the office was empty. We were eventually met by an employee who was off-duty, who then proceeded to take us to a dirty room with no linens, fridge, or any basic amenities. We were then directed to a different room, equally unprepared, where we had to literally make our own beds, move in our own supplies, and essentially set up the entire space ourselves. This was not the relaxing vacation we had envisioned.

Throughout our stay, we encountered numerous issues. The wifi was non-existent in the rooms, the shower was merely a hose, etc etc. To make matters worse, the power went out on our second night. We were left without power or water for the remainder of the night, as repeated calls (10+) to staff went unanswered. We eventually had to endure the night without power and get help in the morning by searching the property.

Our interactions with the management staff were equally disappointing. Claudia, the manager we encountered, was dismissive and defensive, blaming us for the power outage and offering little in the way of compensation. Despite numerous attempts to reach upper management staff by phone, we were met with silence.

Finally we received a single email from the head manager, Hannah, offering “compensation” in the form of a single cocktail or appetizer – a completely inadequate response to the numerous issues we faced. To further add insult to injury, when we checked in with the office once more on our final day (Christmas Day) about our issues and compensation, Claudia would not look us in the eye, and instead proceeded to blame us again for our issues.

Get this: She was preoccupied with putting out “Christmas treats” and told my mother “I told you this morning I’d be putting these out, but you probably didn’t hear because you were too upset.” I would be fired on the spot from ANY customer service job i’ve held after a comment like this.

Concordia Eco-Lodge has the potential to be a beautiful and unique place to stay, given its stunning location. However, the appalling level of service, lack of basic amenities, and the unprofessional behavior of the staff make it an experience we would strongly advise against.

**I would urge anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. There are many other wonderful places to experience the beauty of this side of the island.**

Concordia is in one of the most beautiful locations on the island! We have stayed there before. Unfortunately, our stay was nowhere close to the views. The first night, it was windy and rainy, and soon after the weather started, the water started pouring in through the walls and along the floor. Some dripped on to us as we lay in bed. This got many of our things wet, as we hadn't thought we'd have to raise our belongings up as if we were in a flood. The second night, more rain and wind, and you guessed it, more water seeping in. I lost hours of sleep moving things around, putting towels down, and just worrying about where the water was going to come in next. There were at least 4 tents that had the same issue. Some had soaking mattresses, while others had soggy floors. The resort already knew about this, as they had already ordered materials and supplies to fix the issue, and yet they rented us the unit anyway at full price without telling us it was a possibility that we'd get wet. I have video evidence to share, but no photos.
In addition, as they are building or rebuilding the resort, there is still trash, construction debris, loose and exposed wires, and other detritus everywhere. I would think they would want to clean up first before rebuilding.
It's sad to see what has become of Concordia, but I hope they recover and return to greatness.

We stayed at Concordia for the 4th of July on St. John as it's a great, tranquil spot away from the madness of Cruz Bay. It's nice to drive in and out of the madness (4th of July).

Anyway, the property is still recovering from Hurricane Irma, and under new ownership, so yes, there are construction/upgrades on a lot of units, the poolhouse, etc., but this doesn't take away from the charm of the resort itself. When we visited, the restaurant/bar was not open yet as they were waiting on a permit from the government, but it was very close.

As far as roaches and bugs go, we didn't see any, but this is the bush, people...there are creepy crawlies. If you don't want bugs, you probably shouldn't stay anywhere in the Caribbean. I mean, this is why we stay in a peaceful, eco-environment to get in touch with nature and all its goodness.

Waking up to a view of the bush, Salt Pond Bay, the Caribbean Sea, and the sound of nature with a cup of coffee in hand speaks for itself (you'll be greeted by thrasher birds wanting to share your breakfast)!

The owners/staff are very friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't think twice about returning and currently, it's probably the best deal you'll find on STJ. And...the gift shop has an amazing selection of stickers!

Happy Travels!
