Detailed Reviews
We spent the week - Feb 26 - March 5th and had a fantastic time. The views are absolutely incredible, and at 1,100 feet there is unobstructed views of Tortola and 6 other islands. We stayed at the Orchid suite, which we felt was the perfectively situated above the pool and associated easy access. The suite was perfect, with two bedrooms and a great common/living room area. It was very well appointed with beach chairs, towels, full kitchen appliances and other nice touches.
The deck outside was terrific, with two lounge chairs, a sitting are and separate table and chairs for outside dining. The complex is very private, and during the entire week we saw only one other couple. The pool and hot tub were great and a nice way to end the day after taking in all the beaches.
In prior trips we had stayed in the Cruz bay area, and this was our first time staying in Coral Bay. We really enjoyed the part of the island, as it was much less crowded, great collection of beaches all within 15 minutes, and some great local restaurants.
We booked our suite directly through the Calichi, and they were terrific in seamlessly handling the reservation and bookings. Tiffnay met us when we arrived and did a great job explaining the property amenities and local attractions, including great tips for local fish charters.
All in all we had a great time, and plan to be going back to the Calichi next year!

We recently returned from our stay at Calichi and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it! At the last minute we wanted to arrive a day earlier then we originally booked- Mackenzie and Tiffany made it happen and arranged all of our accommodations for us! They were so helpful since the day we booked, answering all of my questions about the resort and island. The views from the room are the most beautiful views I have ever seen. We enjoyed every morning on the deck. We didn’t spend much time at the resort during the day because there were so many adventures to be had on the island! We enjoyed coming back to the hot tub and pool every evening! We made fun dinners in the fully equipped kitchen, we were able to wash our beach towels everyday in the laundry machines in the room. They had beach chairs we took to the beach with us everyday. If we return to St. John we would definitely return to Calichi. We loved the cats, deer, and chickens we could see on the property. If you are thinking you may have found the perfect place to stay, let me tell you that you did and definitely book Calichi for your trip to St. John! I have to recommend the Salty Mongoose for a pizza night. It was not far from Calichi at all, the pizza was great and the atmosphere was so fun! The Windmill was also a super fun place too!!

Calichi at Picture Point offers what many of us need the most right now. In a time where social distancing is the high note of the world's sermon, Calichi provides a place for loved ones to escape to a warmer, simpler, and calmer setting. You'll be safely tucked away in one of the most BEAUTIFUL places in the world. You can rest easy in the days before your trip knowing your vacation will be crowd-free and just as safe (if not safer) than you were at home.
The villa is stocked with all of the basics needed for your stay. Love City Market and Dolphin Market are less than a ten minute drive just down the hill at Coral Bay. If you aren't up for cooking, Skinny Legs, Aqua Bistro, and Salty Mangoose have delicious food for take-out or dining-in. If architecture and design are important to you, this is your place. There are only six villas in the entire complex, so it is easy to feel as if you have the entire place to yourself.
We are a family of five from Dallas. We were traveling with our daughter (9) and two sons (ages 16 and 19).
In the shared area, there is a refrigerator, grill, tons of chairs, two covered pavilions, a putting green, and a pool and hot tub with the best views in St. John.... Privacy is unparalleled. I could write forever about Calichi and our time there. Just please know that it is a healing place and a happy place, and that you will not be disappointed. Thank you to Tom and family for sticking with your passion and turning your vision into a reality during a time when so many need it. Also, a huge THANK YOU to Kenzie for sticking around on the night of our arrival. We cannot wait to visit again!!

We celebrated our 11 year anniversary here for the last week, and I almost did not leave a review because I want to gate-keep this place to myself. However, that wouldn’t be fair to the property owners. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. With breathtaking views, a rooftop hot tub, and a luxurious villa, we could not have asked for a better stay. Tiffany was in contact with me before the trip, and immediately touched base with me when we landed to make sure we had no issues checking in. She met us at the property to show us around and was absolutely wonderful. The villa itself was extremely well maintained, modern, and we felt like celebrities the entire time. I rate this VRBO a 20/10 because it is THAT good. Nothing else will compare, and we are already looking forward to coming back.

My Wife and I stayed have stayed at Calichi a couple times, most recently July 2021 and then again in September 2021. We have already booked a return trip in February 2022 and if we are lucky we will squeeze another trip in before then. If you cannot tell we love the place. STJ (and Calichi) is definitely my happy place.
Mackenzie and Parker are simply the best. Nicest people you will likely ever meet and both are very accommodating. They are responsive and helpful before you arrive on STJ, while you are on STJ and even after you return home from STJ.
There are several villas at Calichi (2 bed and 1 bed) and each of them are fantastic. The views from all the villas we have stayed are breathtaking. Each villa has everything you need to live like you live on STJ. If something is missing, text Mackenzie or Parker and they likely know where it may be stored in the villa - like the binoculars mentioned in another person's review.
Calichi is near the highest point of STJ which is roughly in the center of the island, so its close to everything - from Cruz Bay and North Shore beaches to Carol Bay and the East End beaches. We like to pick a new beach each day to visit unless we decide to stay at the villa and/or hang out at the pool. The views of the British Virgin Islands and the East End from the pool are just as good as the views from the villas.
The wifi has always worked great. No issues with Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. for when you decide to stay inside. The power on STJ does go out every now and then for an hour or two (the power comes from STT), but Calichi has a great backup battery system that we did not even notice the last time it happened.
I highly recommend Calichi whether you are visiting STJ for the first time or the hundredth time.

My wife and I had the most perfect honeymoon at Calichi. We expected perfect views based on the website. However, we did not expect the thoughtful touches all around the villas and within our own place. Clearly much thought went into the construction, design, and landscaping with this property. Equally impressive were all of the nice touches on the inside, from the great appliances and cookware to the beach towels/chairs. Kenzie, our greeter who met us at the local grocery after we picked up our rental Jeep, was awesome throughout our stay, giving some inside recs on hiking adventures and restaurants. I see where I am the third reviewer, but my whole experience was more consistent with "Mark Q" and only had the best of interactions with Alex!

If you are looking for a place to stay on St. Johns, I can not recommend a better spot! From the moment we arrived, the staff did a great job of taking care of us and meeting all of our needs and gave some great recommendations on place to eat and things to see. The villa was beautiful, extremely well kept and well designed. The kitchen has all the basics that you need to cook (we ended up cooking two nights with some fresh fish that we bought).
And when I tell people what my favorite part of my vacation was, I tell them just being able to relax on the porch and have the beautiful view over Coral Bay. If you are looking for an amazing gateaway with the best views on the island. This is your place to stay!

+1
We only have wonderful things to say about our time at Calichi. The space was perfect for my boyfriend and I. The view was absolutely gorgeous. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bathroom was roomy with a lot of storage, and it was great to have a washer and dryer during our stay. The pool was very quiet and had everything you could ever need to enjoy the water.
There are rolling power outages all over the island (you could be sitting in a restaurant and the power will go out) and the property manager had excellent communication each time our villa was affected. It was completely out of her hands but she was very attentive to our needs. One of the great things is that they do have solar energy so the villa was able to run on that for extended periods.
Maho was about 15 minutes away and we drove into Cruz Bay frequently for dinner (25 min).
Our villa was comfortable, clean, and beautiful. We would love to come back!

Calichi is located near the top of Bordeaux Mountain and the drive to the top is steep (rent a Jeep), but the view from there is spectacular! We stayed at the Guava villa and the view from the balcony was just incredible - we had to pinch ourselves every day to make sure we weren't dreaming. The villa was secluded and included everything we needed: a full kitchen, very comfortable king size bed, washer and dryer, very nice bathroom with walk-in shower, beach towels and chairs, and even an outdoor shower to get the sand off. The infinity pool and hot tub were an easy walk from the villa and provided even more beautiful views of St. John from the top. Our host Tiffany was very helpful and kept in contact with us throughout the day of our arrival. Calichi was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed, and we highly recommend it.

Our stay at Calichi was amazing with the best view on the island. The villa was stocked with every kitchen appliance you could ask for. Plenty of towels, coffee, basic spices in the kitchen. Everything was clean as well. We definitely plan on returning.
I suggest renting a car then you will have access to everything you need.

The villas are on top of a mountain so you aren’t on the beach but the beaches are about 15-20min drive (everything is about that time to get places). There are a few restaurants in coral bay which again is about a 10-15 min drive down the mountain. More restaurants in Cruz bay which is on the other side of the island (about 25min). The closest thing to the villas is the trailhead for the Reef Bay hike (there are petroglyphs!) which is highly recommended and is less than a 10 min drive from the villas!
