Detailed Reviews
Absolutely loved everything about my stay at Villa Molek. Stumbled across this gem when I was looking for a work-holiday stay that's walking distance to beaches but far enough from crowds. What I experienced was pleasantly beyond my expectation.
Peter and Su greeted us personally at check-in. Very hospitable and jovial couple who are always willing to share tips and stories. Their staff emulates their hospitality in every way, from the breakfast to cleaning crew, and speaks highly of them.
As kak Siti took us to the room, I noticed that the compound is very neatly kept with ample greenery, fish ponds and some cats. I’m usually weary of cats due to allergies, but these cute pets I had no problem with. In fact, I looked forward to seeing them when I’m in the compound in the day (kept in a kennel at night). They’re very clean, cheeky and entertaining, and don’t invade your space. No incessant meowing either.
The villas are nicely spaced for two. On one side of the studio space you’ll find a living room, working and dining areas, small kitchen with basic amenities. On the other side, super soft and comfortable queen bed and pillows that you’ll just love sinking into after a long day, split shower and toilet, all the essentials you need. Fast WiFi speed as well, but you may need to step out of the room for better connection.
A simple buffet breakfast is served every morning with selection of breads, side salad, muesli, coffee, tea, eggs, fruits and the occasional nasi lemak. Just nice to fuel up for a walk or beach day. One thing to note is exceptions are made on Fridays to have breakfast served in the room. A tray of yogurt, milk, muesli, bread (toaster is provided in the room), butter and jam is given. But you can also make a request if you’d like something extra and they’ll be more than happy to accommodate.
Was really looking forward to extending another night, which Peter did for me very quickly upon request, unfortunately last minute plans took hold. So sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for taking the time to do this! One thing for sure is I know I’ll be back to stay the next time I visit Langkawi.
See you all again soon!
Cheers,
Andrea and Charlotte.

After spending four long months at our Kuala Lumpur home during the Covid Lockdown, we really felt the urge for some beach times. We headed to Langkawi where we found a jewel resort called “Villa Molek”. We decided to stay for one month. Villa Molek is a boutique resort offering 12 spacious suites of 60 Sq M each, plus a 12 Sq M balcony overlooking a nice tropical garden. The suites provide a modern styling decor, as well as exceptional comfort. Everything is functional and well maintained. Suite amenities include a good size refrigerator in a simple kitchen corner with a high table, dishes and utensils. Ideal when deciding to takeaway and dine in. The friendly hosts Sue, Peter and the staff are all about making your stay pleasant and memorable. There is a definite European feel to the place, as one of our hosts is of Swiss origin. The breakfast is very typically European. The location is ideal. A few minutes walk to Tengah beach, but also a 10 minutes walk to the busier Cenang beach area. There is also a wide variety of restaurants in the neighbourhood. The "Villa Molek Cafe" also offers excellent home made food, with both Local Malay and Western selections on the menu. There is a definite “home away from home” feel at Villa Molek, and after staying a month there, we will definitely come back !!

We love Villa Molek so much that this is our third visit and we stayed a month! It was quiet, welcoming, restful and perfect in every way. We had not travelled at this time of year before and it was hot some days with no rain. Apparently, water supply to the area in the hot season can be compromised as the island gets it pumped in from the mainland. We had a few days when the water was intermittent but the owners of the villas did their upmost to ensure that tank water was available and that every room was notified of the situation. We did not suffer any inconvenience and in fact the staff worked extremely hard to ensure that our stay was not compromised. Our rooms were cleaned daily, our breakfast had lots of choices and the treed environment brought in plenty of bird and animal life to make our balcony viewing unforgettable. It was a home away from home and a memorable stay. We sampled the very best local restaurants and the beach is truly magical…particularly for our nightly walk. This is a Villa offering a true Malay experience and the loyal and hardworking staff are like family. We will return to enjoy the wonderful hospitality soon.

first vacation after more than a year of lockdown in Kuala Lumpur should be something really great. I knew the quiet stretch of beach in Langkawi very well, but this small resort exceeded all my expectations. Really very nice location surrounded by a lot of nature. The rooms resemble a studio, with a huge terrace balcony from which you can watch the wild animals. Not only the owners but also the staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. They make you feel like you are at home in a different place. Breakfast is (still) served in the room, the selection could be more varied. Well, you can order Foodpanda or Grab, which works very well. Internet only works in the lobby, also good, so you work less and relax more. Langkawi is slowly waking up from its long slumber and one thing is certain for me, I'm coming back to Villa Molek.

You receive a very warm welcome from id and thoughtful management and staff.
The apartment was a lovely surprise. First floor living area leading to kitchen area and separate were the bedroom and bathroom.
Plenty of cupboard space.
The kitchen had iron, ironing board, kettle, tea/coffee and sugar all in sealed containers. Battles of water available to pop in the fridge.
Upper level apartments are great for wildlife photography, especially as you get your own shaded veranda to sit quietly and observe.
Towels rolled ready for use for bathroom and separate ones for pool use.
Wonderful kimonos for wear (also sold in the little on site shop).
Breakfast is continental with a twist. Eggs prepared freshly as required.
Sue's banana, orange and lemon cakes are brilliant (better than mine).
She also makes cookies which are SO tasty. They will have you going back for more.
All in all this is a great and well placed hotel to stay on this wonderful island.
There is a great restaurant on site which does very good local food. Other restaurants are within walking distance on the main road.
There is free parking on site.
You are opposite the beach which has various water sports.
The customer service here makes you want to stay longer. We WILL be going back here again in the future.
Thank you to Sue. Peter and all the rest of your great staff for a superb stay.

Villa Molek is located in a beautiful jungle garden.🌴🪴🦎🐒🐿🐦
Here you are completely relaxed!
You can watch birds in peace and quiet from your own terrace. If you are lucky you will occasionally see the nice Dusky leaf monkeys in the trees next to the apartment, sometimes the black giant squirrel. Every day we enjoy seeing the smaller gray squirrels.
The rooms are large, clean and
truly equipped with all amenities;
water, snacks, flip flops, beach towels and plenty
shower products. Beds are
wonderful, and when you are in the semi-open shower and toilet, you imagine yourself in the jungle with all kinds of different animal sounds.
There is a small swimming pool with sunbeds. The swimming pool is not large but great for a refreshing dip.
The rooms are cleaned every day and nothing is too much, should anything be desired.
Breakfast is an extensive buffet and
eggs of your choice that you can still order.
The apartment is a 5-minute walk from a beautiful beach with lounger options, water sports and the fantastic Hidden restaurant.
Next to the complex there is also a great bar and restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal. There are also more nice restaurants and bars nearby.
The busier Cenang is a 15-minute walk away.
I really can't think of anything negative
think about this fantastic place. The owner Peter is always up for a nice chat and the staff is super friendly and always there for you.

We stayed for 14 nights of peace and quiet and privacy. The property consists of 4 villas per block, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. You access your upstairs villa from an external shared staircase between 2 blocks of villas. This means nobody walks past your villa balcony or windows. The villa is divided into sleeping and living areas, making it ideal for a long stay. The location is within walking distance of the beach and many restaurants. We enjoyed having a continental breakfast delivered to our room each evening, rather than attending for a la carte breakfast in the dining room.

The accommodation is really comfortable and spacious with very welcoming owners and helpful staff!
Pantai cenang is a short walk away, there’s a mini mart just down the road and there are plenty of restaurants around.
The room is comfortable though slightly outdated with washrooms that are clean but not luxurious (no baths!). It’s a nice place to chill out after a long day at the beach. There are wall sockets in the living area but not in the bedroom.
Breakfast was disappointing. While the coffee and eggs were fine, the baked goods were stale and tasteless.
All in all, it was pleasant to stay here.

We made our fourth visit to Villa Molek, our fifth to Langkawi. A beautiful spot to regenerate, absorb and relax away from a cold Australian winter. As usual our host and his amazing staff were so welcoming and friendly. The weather was warm, the sea temperature was bath like and local restaurants did not disappoint. We felt like locals after 5 weeks of this. Highly recommend for resetting the body and mind. One of our favourite locations on this planet.

Our favourite lace to stay in Langkawi. Staff are so friendly and efficient. The room are always spotless and breakfast is always wonderful. You might get lucky and get Nasi Lemak! But the best part of this accommodation are the hosts. Sue and Peter have been here for 30 years, make you feel so welcome and love their staff. A true taste of Malaysia here. A serene and tranquil place to reset your soul. Highly recommended.
