Great view and room, food and service could be better.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for our anniversary. The view from our villa was amazing! The room and bathroom were gorgeous. The outside area was fine - I think some upgrades could be made to the furniture but it was ok. We loved the pool - was fun to see hornbills, other birds and monkeys while we swam. Loved waking up to the sunrise! We did the wellness promotion and absolutely loved our time at the sister property Ambong Rainforest Retreat across the way doing yoga, sound therapy and massage. The spa experience was so lovely - we'd come back just for that. Taking of a star for service (they forgot to pick us up from the airport and the staff at the pool villas seemed young/not sure what was going on) . We found the service at Ambong Rainforest Retreat better, as well as the food. The food at the pool villas was not great, especially for the price point. We had dinner one night at the Bon Ton resort (about 10 minutes away by car) and it was excellent.…

Dear Alison, Thank you for a lovely review. Coming from an experienced traveler (judging from your other reviews), it is particularly valuable. The pool villas were designed especially for guests who appreciate privacy, peace and serenity in an environment that is as close to nature as possible. It’s an experience to be woken up to a new day by a glorious sunrise. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay there. On your next visit, you may wish to stay in one of the other villas and experience one of Langkawi’s beautiful sunsets. Our spa, Amaala which you so enjoyed is the result of a recent total makeover to offer more comprehensive and integrated wellness programs. In time we hope to make it THE wellness and healing center of Langkawi. Pegaga, our fully vegan cafe located at the Rainforest Retreat, is part of our wholesome living program. We are also developing our own organic farm which in a few months will be able to supply healthy fresh vegetables to our kitchens. In similar spirit, Rimba (our restaurant at the Pool Villas) uses locally sourced ingredients with a menu that’s inspired by Langkawi cuisine. The comment about the staff is noted. Like most establishments we are having serious staff shortages, having lost some very experienced people during the pandemic. While the new staff are very keen and, most important, friendly to guests, they are still new to the job. Please bear with us. We hope you will visit us again and give us the opportunity to make up for our shortcomings.

An Impeccable Experience

My wife and I recently spent 2 nights in Ambong Ambong - one night in the Pool Villa, and another night in the Rainforest Retreat. Much has already been said about the quality of the dining experience (truly delicious!), gorgeous rooms (thoughtful, elegant and perfect for lounging the day away), the views (sunrise or sunset - both perfect) and the wildlife you share the space with. But we need to give a special shout out to the exceptional team that keeps Ambong Ambong running. The level of service we had the privilege of receiving during our 2 nights staying in both the Pool Villa and Rainforest Retreat exceeded not just our expectations, but our prior experiences anywhere in the word. The Ambong Ambong team were courteous, warm, genuine and above all, proud to be of service. Individuals like Zafirah, Hazmie, Lee, Shahidan and Fazz went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, and it's to their credit that we will surely make a return trip to Ambong Ambong.…

Best Choice for a Malaysian Honeymoon (You will be treated like a King & Queen)

Where do I even begin with my review. With the options to travel abroad for our honeymoon limited, I searched around and stumbled upon Ambong Ambong Pool Villas. As I reflect back on our stay there, it was probably the best decision that we both made as our stay there was absolutely perfect. We stayed there for 5 Days & 4 Nights for our Honeymoon and it was probably the most relaxing, comfortable, and amazing stay we have ever had. What defines Ambong and separates them from the rest is their FIRST CLASS SERVICE. If we were to go another place, we would just be another guest. The team which consist of Putra, Lee, Aiman, Darleena, Zafirah, and of course En. Hazmie (Who made our romantic dinner and breakfast everyday so so special). The entire team was excellent. Temoyong Pool Villa was superb and it gave us the peace, privacy and relaxation that we were after. The Villa was clean, amazingly designed, and well maintained. The pool was so nice and the view of the Andaman Sea was magnificent. Temoyong had no monkeys and that was a big relieve for us. The food in Ambong was simply spectacular (They made us realize again how blessed we Malaysians are to have such good food in our culture. The Nasi Lemak is the best). The AMAALA Spa was also something that was simply delightful. Ms. Suzy & Ms. Zoey provided us with an amazing spa and massage experience. In Conclusion, Ambong Ambong is a top notch resort and you will never regret making the decision to choose to stay here. I know for a fact that we will be returning there one day and its only just a matter of when. Thank you Mr, Amran and your team for making our Honeymoon special.…

Unforgettable stay!!!💞

We chose Ambong Pool Villas for our honeymoon in Langkawi and it was the best choice. Villas are so beautiful and the nature is stunning. The staff was super nice and did everything to ensure our comfortable stay. They also prepared very nice postcards and flowers and petals (for bath) as a gift for our special occasion. You can stay all day at Villa and enjoy privacy and order delicious food from their restaurant. The swimming pool is large enough for comfortable swimming, I was pleasantly surprised. Plus you can enjoy Netflix! Everyday we could enjoy stunning sunsets right from swimming pool or from hot bubble bath drinking prosecco. Also we ordered in room massage, it was amazing and super relaxing. We were lucky to degustate some new dishes for the new menu. It was fantastic experience, presentation and taste was high class. Moreover we are so happy we met owners in person, it was so fun to chat and get aquatinted, the evening together passed by so quickly. We spent 8 days at Ambong Pool Villas but still we felt we didn't have enough, it was difficult to leave such a beautiful place and the hotel staff that became like friends already. We definitely hope to visit this unforgettable place again and will highly recommend to our friends.…

Best place for family get away

This is the best place for family to get away from city and noise, it is so nature ambience with clean and fresh air. The setup of the pool villas is very clean and well maintain. My kids really love it, the pool is the priority of the rating. Furthermore, the staff at front desk, house keeping to Rimba restaurant, is very friendly and professional. They kept their guest comfortable and responsive all the time. From check in to airport transfer and to our room, well trained and respectful. Restaurant serves nice food and the surrounding serenity is awesome, staff were very attentive. Im so happy and satisfied to the extend that I will return to this resort in future.
