Fantastic hotel, really lovely. The best part was meeting Josef the concierge , he made th stay for us. We are returning guests and only come back here because of him. The rooms, service and food is fabulous but Josef just makes it special. Thank you Josef

From arriving view from outside was beautiful. The lady that greeted us with the short hair (sorry can't remember her name) was so lovely showed us to our room gave us all the information we needed and we got a free coffee and piece of cake which I thought was a nice touch. Room was lovely had a bath and shower and bed was very soft and comfortable. Had tea in the restaurant which was very nice and all the staff were polite and couldn't do enough. Swimming pool was decent only reason for 4 star was hottub wasn't open and the steam room was under construction. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and again staff where attentive and didn't have to wait long for anything. Will definatly stay here again.

Nice hotel, all the staff were really pleasant and the food and accommodation is good. Great base for exploring the Lake District but sadly due to the heavy rain on every day of our stay, we didn’t do as much walking as we would have liked. However, there is a nice gym in the hotel and a small pool (pool is only open to guests a couple of times a day). We ate in the hotel every night and the food is lovely, bar staff very friendly especially the tall slim long haired dude (sorry I didn’t get his name) who always had a chat. Breakfast was great, if like me you like porridge, I can highly recommend it here but the full English or smoked salmon options are equally recommended by my husband who sampled pretty much everything. The only downside (hence 4 stars) is that the couple in the room next door were a bit noisy and their TV was loud (not the hotels fault) but something to be aware of. All in all a great stay.

We’ve just returned from a weekend at Embleton Spa. We stayed in Bassenthwaite which is a larger apartment and it was just brilliant! From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and really welcoming. The bar area is lovely…there’s a really nice, cosy atmosphere and they offer a really good selection of drinks. The apartment itself was just right…a balance of staying in a hotel but being able to relax back in the living room when we wanted to. The hotel is completely dog friendly with ample grounds around the hotel and some treats left in the apartment for them to enjoy. We had both breakfasts and evening meals which were absolutely delicious. You are asked to order your breakfast the night before so they can be prepared which was fine. The swimming pool was an added bonus for us as we came with our daughter…there is a timetable that specifies when it is open to hotel residents as it is used for swimming lessons etc between times. The views from the hotel are stunning and just up the road are Keswick and Cockermouth which were nice places to visit. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely weekend away.

Overall it was a reasonable hotel. The room was on the small side, only a double bed, the room wouldn't have been wide enough for anything else. Bathroom tiny, you had to open door, go in one side and then shut door to use sink. Fan in Bathroom rattled badly. Food was reasonable, although we had to wait over an hour one night, there were only 2 of us!. The speciality burger managed to be tasteless (despite the numerous toppings) and dense and it was served on a fridge cold bun which made it unpleasant to eat. The staff make this a 4* rather than 3* review as they were beyond helpful and always pleasant.

Came for 2 nights arrived to a warm welcome and a free upgrade to an apartment which was huge. This was nice and comfortable. The spa and pool are a little it dated and in need of some attention however we still used the pool and had a good half hour swim. The food in the restaurant was fabulous the service a little slow as it was valentines Nite but the staff were lovely and very chatty. Complimentary coffee and cakes every afternoon another little gem All in all we had a fab stay and would definitely stay again

The Hotel was spotless and staff were so lovely. Food was very tasty in the restaurant. Our apartment was great and the view was superb. Lovely and warm, quirky, comfortable. The staff were chatty to my children and accommodating with regards to our breakfast. Can’t fault anything and we even asked to see the other apartments to see which we’d prefer next time we come and they were equally as good, we’ll be back for certain. The best thing about this place was, being a big family, things can get expensive, but we had an all the benefits of a hotel, restaurant, room service ect but we also had a kitchen too cook and big living room to play family game and watch films at night. Thanks for a lovely experience it was defiantly worth travelling a bit further that we normally go on our last minute breaks.

We stayed here with our 2 dogs, the staff are extremely helpful especially Mags. Little welcome treats for the pooches in the room and complimentary coffee and cake on arrival is a great touch. It is a lovely little hotel, you can see they are updating it, although I don't think it should be labelled a "spa" hotel, the pool area looks like it's in need of a little tlc and the hot tub wasn't working properly. The food made up for that though, it was absolutely beautiful. 1 of the best meals I've had in a long time ! We got the steak le boeuf sharer and it had so much taste. The starter also was tasty. Service was slow on the evening but it didn't disappoint the stay.
