Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Amberley Cottage for 2 nights to attend a surprise birthday party. It was Easter weekend & lots of places were already full. Our sat nav wasn’t able to find the cottage from the postcode but the owners were very helpful & met us at the local pub to guide us in!
The house & gardens are absolutely delightful & the views from its elevated position are amazing! Our room was huge, with everything you could possibly want, & the tea with Easter cup cakes & shortbread was greatly appreciated.
Breakfast was served each morning in the morning room & was superb. I especially enjoyed the setting, with the stone mullioned windows, the antique furniture & pictures.
We ate at the Egypt Mill in Nailsworth, which was a short drive away & very enjoyable. Another fascinating building! Slimbridge WWT is only 11 miles away & well worth a visit.
We had a lovely weekend & wouldn’t hesitate to thoroughly recommend Amberley Cottage. Thank you, Sally, Wendy & Carlos!

The previous reviews really say it all. We had the double which is very spacious and has two windows on two sides making it bright with beautiful views of the valley and the grazing cows (Amberley is within Minchinhampton Common). For me a highlight was the in-room tea service which included teas, coffees, infusions, hot chocolate AND ovaltine, a small flapjack and of course the fresh milk and bottled water. The bathroom included everything you needed which you don't always find in B & Bs (soap, shampoo, lotion, cotton buds, cotton wool pads, shower cap).
Wendy is the perfect host and breakfast was a you wanted (with Marmite provided!).
TIPS for visitors: we had a lovely walk across the Common and down the valley towards Stroud, with a short walk along the canal to the Stroud Brewery which is a great location to sample some local brewed beers and snacks on a sunny day. On the way back don't miss the ice cream parlour on the Common!

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Amberley Cottage last weekend (2nd December) as a surprise pre birthday treat for me. And what a fabulous surprise, The location is idyllic (beautiful views), the room spacious (1 0f 3) and the bathroom stocked with toiletries. Such a good night's sleep and ready for an amazing spread for breakfast. And such a welcoming host. Thank you Wendy for letting us stay in your lovely B&B. We will be back.

Stayed here for 2 nights, the house has been delightfully restored with amazing views. Very large bedroom ( Room 1 ) Tea and cake on arrival, a morning room available for guests use, There was fresh milk in the bedroom and we had a very tasty cooked breakfast.
Wendy and her sister were fantastic hosts, they made us feel very welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
A real gem of a b n b, it was excellent value for money and we look forward to returning.

Amberley cottage is a beautiful Cotswold stone house (it's much bigger than 'cottage' would suggest) built on the side of a steep valley overlooking the glorious countryside just off Minchinhampton Common. It is within walking distance of the equally excellent Black Horse pub. Both have stunning views.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The house is quiet and the breakfasts (bespoke catering at its best) are superb. Guests have sole use of one end of the long house (you could almost call it the South wing) and privacy is assured. However, Wendy and her sister are as attentive as is needed and look after their guests extremely well. Nothing seems too much trouble.
Amberley cottage is a quiet and beautiful place with numerous walking opportunities locally available. Extremely good value as well.
Thank you Wendy

Views are across the valley are stunning too. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and provided an excellent breakfast which set us up for the day.
