The resort is within driving distance of Jalpaiguri, and from Bagdogra. So if you are planning a holiday in Darjeeling or Gangtok, this should be a mandatory halt.

Jardiniere which owned the Baradighi Tea Estate painstakingly restored their Manager’s bungalow and converted it into a boutique resort which is faithful to the Raj period when it was first built. Not only are all the suits restored to their 1880s ancestry, but many of the pieces of furniture and other artefacts are original and authentic.

The guest rooms on the first floor are air conditioned and large with attached baths complete with a tub, and hot water. The four poster beds are very comfortable. The rooms open out to the long veranda with dark teak floors, potted plants, and very comfortable lounging chairs. The living rooms on the ground floor have comfortable stuffed sofas, and a restaurant. While the restaurant serves a buffet breakfast and dinner, its specialty is continental food. Chef Rosario would be an asset in any 5 star hotel kitchen.

The grounds are extensive. The lawns stretch to the vast tea estates which surround the bungalow. There is a well maintained grass court where one can play tennis, and a good size swimming pool. The gardening staff not only maintains the garden but also has a kitchen garden which grows organic food starting from strawberries to yams which, we were told, sometimes attracts wild elephants that otherwise live in the two reserved forests close to the resort - the Gaumara and the Chapramari reserve forests. The resort can arrange trip in these reserve forests to view elephants, bison and rhinos They also arrange a visit to the Tea Estate & factory. If requested, the resort arranges a Tribal dance in the evening. They can also arrange a vehicle to and from the airport or train station as also to drive up to Darjeeling or Gangtok.

The place is authentically period, the grounds are lovely, the food is outstanding, and the beer is cold. If one were to use superlatives to describe any place, this would be that place.

We, a group of 6 friends, reached Baradighi Bungalow after a hectic 7 days trips which included few jungle safaris . We got a very warm welcome there and was charmed by the beauty of the place. The old bungalow is so well preserved, it transports us to the bygone era of tea planters. All modern amenities have been very deftly incorporated into the old world charm of this stunning place. The rooms are very well appointed and cosy. Every nook and corner of the bungalow is so beautiful.
The surroundings are so green with lush tea gardens, so soothing to the tired eyes of the city dwellers.
It has a huge , very well maintained garden which is a sight to behold. Majestic Kanchenjangha was visible throughout our stay there. It added to our joy.
I must mention separately the tasty meals we had there. Each and every dish was superb and so yummy The chef and the dining room stuffs pampered us like anything and even took care of our personal preferences.
Each and every member of the support stuff are simply superb.. they were so polite, attentive and ready to take care of us unobtrusively. The team is led very efficiently by the resident manager Mr Gaurav who deserves a special mention. He arranged a jeep tour of the tea garden and we watched a mesmerizing sunset from the riverbank. The driver needs a special mention. He was very dutiful and friendly.
We enjoyed staying there so much that we canceled all our sight seeing plans in nearby areas and just soaked in the beauty and comfort of the place by lazing around.
I will definitely go back there. A big thanks to Team Baradighi The Bangalow for making our stay a memorable one.
One suggestion for betterment : please make the shower area of the bathrooms more user friendly. The wooden stairs for the bathtubs need certain level of physical fitness to use. Shower cubicles or a normal modern bathtub will be a better option.

I had heard so much about the Magnificent Tea Garden Bungalows in the Dooars, that when I decided to travel to Bhutan via road from Bagdogra, I felt I couldnt return to Mumbai without taking the opportunity to spend atleast one night at one of these much haloed dwellings,
I found Baradighi The Bungalow, through Google and whatever I saw appeared nice, so I booked myself there for a night.
The Bungalow at Baradighi Estate is located deep within its Tea Garden.. We lost our way after entering the vast estate and had a fair tour of the Tea Garden before finally reaching the intended destination.
Be prepared for a Very English, plush Raj Style experience at Baradighi The Bungalow, in terms of the Architecture, Ambience, and Feel. The Room is way larger than the Finest of Five star suites, with a really Large bed, fireplace et al.. flanked by an adjoining large bath area with a large size tub with shower and a separate Dressing Room. All the rooms lead out to a long Balcony Area with a direct view of the Kanchenjunga on a less cloudy day. The Balcony area is dotted with potted plants, relaxing lounge chairs and sitting areas. Very pretty indeed.
Service is excellent from a very attentive staff who knows how to make guests feel pampered. Right from the Manager Gourab Roy Mukherjee to the other attendants and a chef who turns out some really delectable cuisine like an art form.
One can choose to go around the place, explore the Gorubathan National Park or simply laze and bask in the divine surroundings..
Whatever you choose to do, one night is certainly not enough...

Strongly recommended.... especially for people with a penchant to experience the finer things in life...

Well, first things first- the good things. The place apparently looks beautiful and the service is wonderful. The food quality is great and so is the behaviour of the staff.
Now , let’s talk about the things that need huge improvements. Do not come to this place in the summer months. The rooms are huge and there is just one air conditioner. We literally wanted to go out of the place at night because of the unbearable heat.
There is one bathtub in the bathroom section but that too is damaged. The water is completely red and practically the bath tub is unusable.
There are frequent power cuts adding to your discomfort.
There is no fan in the corridor. So don’t think of walking through the corridor in the summer months.
You need to bring your own swimming costumes to use the pool and the pool is so poorly lit that you can’t use it in the evening.
The wash basin in the dining is damaged and you have to use the sink in the kitchen.
The list goes on so I’m ending it here. Please do not come in the summer months and please do not pay what they are charging. It’s pathetically overpriced.

We spent 3 nights @ Baradighi Tea Bunglow and experienced warm hospitality , excellent guest care . Highlight of this property is guest orientation of its staff , food and a versatile Chef who can cater to customised demands of the guests . Truly unparallel. The location of the Tea Bunglow is very nice and one can enjoy the serenity & green cover of the surroundings - forest & Tea garden .
The property also needs some immediate improvement action from the management . Bathrooms do not have shower cubicles and one has to jump into rundown bathtubs which is risky and can cause accident.
The Bunglow doesn't have a single TV set . The lounge & dining area must be fitted with TV sets.
The old Gypsy vehicle which takes the guests for guided tour in the Garden appears quite unreliable but it has an excellent driver Rahul .This vehicle needs replacement.

We had recently been to the Baradighi tea estate Bungalow. It was an amazing experience staying in their Morris suite having a panoramic view of the sprawling garden and the tea estate. Being a heritage property we had the luxury of living in the high ceiling large rooms having interiors laid out with Victorian furniture with an old world charm of the colonial days - vintage and royal.
The staff were very hospitable with a professional turn out and always serving with a smile. They went above and beyond their normal duty to attend to every need during our stay. The food was excellent with a wide selection served a la carte to your choice. They offered several other activities like visiting the tea factory and experience the production process and tasting variety of flavors of CTC tea made in the estate. One could also enjoy the beautiful landscape of the riverside forest near the Gorumara National Park. A special mention about the Resident Manager Gourab and his dedicated team for their hospitality with a special touch. We plan to revisit once again sometime in the near future.

This place exudes the old world charm and stirs up nostalgia through every nook and corner of it's interiors. It is ideal for a 2-3 day weekend getaway for people from Kolkata and nearby places. The place boasts a beautiful garden and a charming library where one can relax with a book. Cycles are also provided for those who would like to cycle around the tea estate. A complimentary tour of the tea factory and estate is also provided. The staff were very professional and courteous and were always on call for our requirements. All in all, a wonderful and relaxing stay.

“Baradighi the bungalow “ made my gift trip to my parents memorable in every possible way!! knowing my parents have never stayed in a tea garden resort, i chose Baradighi.. little did I know that its’ every nook and corner is so aesthetically done showcasing the british era charm, the artefacts being just classy and the stuffs are simply the best.. the delicious foods were customised as per my parents’ choice from the vegetables of the bungalow’s very own garden!!My little one didn’t stop running and plying in the lawn while my mother just got lost in the beautiful garden. Want to Specially mention Ms Getashree and Mr Gaurav for arranging a candlelight dinner on 14 th even though I myself forgot that I have requested for something special .. and yes, we experienced the mesmerising sunset by Neura river and witnessed the peacock dancing in the tea garden safari they provided us..I am definitely coming back again.. just to lie down leisurely for hours under their big litchii tree and doing nothing… absolutely nothing …
Ps- photos not doing justice to the vibe and the warmth we experienced!!

The Baradighi bungalow is mesmerizing. The bungalow, the decor, the linen, the furniture, the upholstery, the landscape, the staff..each and every thing in the right place.
The politeness of the staff including Bikram, Samir, Adarsh, Sudip and even the gardeners and the exquisite culinary skills of chef Rozario are praiseworthy.
They pampered us with delectable food and fantastic service. From Continental to Chinese to Indian to Bengali cuisine, each and every food item that came to the dining table spoke of great care that the team took to prepare and serve us.
The tea, cookies and munchies served was a delight for all of us.
The dining room was an experience with the team serving each guest with utmost care.
The main thing that strikes about this place is how quietly everyone here works without the guests even knowing their presence.
No loud noise from kitchen or footsteps of the service team - they tiptoed.
Such graceful service adds to the experience of a pleasant and a memorable stay.
More important, they were prompt to wake up at 3am and see us off with the sandwiches as we had to catch an early morning flight.
Not once we encountered any staff member being grumpy or impolite.
They pampered us and yet kept their distance - thereby giving us space and yet that feeling of being special.
That is Baradighi's soul! And one will definitely fall in love with it.
