Had a slightly cold greeting, but we put that down to the post-lunch time rush time of our arrival. Bed was tiny as a double, but apart from that, the room was lovely with stunning views over the hills. Food was good and service quick and efficient. When booking, there was a bit of a mix up with available rooms,...

More of a Pub restaurant than hotel, the Jennings Ale was in tip top condition. Went on a busy Saturday evening, we chose Thai Cod & Prawn fishcake, Black pudding, Farmhouse Pate and Soup to start all very nice, for mains slow roasted Lamb, Haddock, Chicken fillet and gammon steak all were reasonable without being special, service was a bit...

From the minute our party of 6 middle aged hill walkers arrived we were made to feel completely at home. A warm welcome and then shown to our rooms. I had a fabulous 2nd floor double with well appointed en suite. Shower was fabulously hot with excellent water pressure. Very comfortable bed and splendid views. Stayed two nights and ate...

A popular pub. Ideal for the Inn Way being twelve miles from Rosthwaite and eleven miles from Buttermere and an excellent base to explore the northern Lakes. A proper walkers pub - good beer, good food and a good nights sleep.

Well, where do I start? Needed to get away, and having had a beer or 2! at the Coledale Inn in the past, thought it might be a great place to base ourselves. HOW WRONG WE WERE!!! IT WAS A BRILLIANT PLACE! From the minute we got there(after a 6 hour drive) the staff, the rooms, the food oh, and...

Spent a few days here last week on the recommendation of some friends. The hotel is dog friendly and very welcoming. Room spotlessly clean. Food excellent and good value. Highly recommended. Will visit again!

Me and my wife stayed overnight on 17th April en route to a tour of Scotland and we loved the Coledale Inn. Greeted with a welcoming smile we were shown to our room overlooking the village of Braithwaite. The room was clean and tidy, plenty big enough and had a single as well as a double bed. OK, the en-suite...

We had a room in the Annexe, Room was large and spacious. The toilet and shower very small. Breakfast in the main good, coffee sometimes comes in the teapot and on 2 mornings were served overdone sausage. The lounge bar with an open fire, great food and dogs made welcome, Lovely views. Pleasant staff

After being refused entry at the Royal Oak the other local pub in Braithwaite, we walked up the hill to the Coledale arms, and what a lovely reception and afternoon we had. Ten of us and 4 dogs, all soaked to the skin seeking pub lunches, beer and a chance to warm up and dry out, we were not disappointed....
