Housed in an old convent from the 1600s who at that time was used as a hospital. The medieval feeling is obvious, but it space to do so much more.Shared facilities are fastidious so even breakfast and it is somewhat churlish of service. The rooms are simple but have managed to find the feeling that does not characterize the mood for the...

I wanted to go all out with the medieval theme when visiting Visby, so I picked this hotel and wasn't disappointed! Check-in was prompt and helpful. I was given a brief tour of the hotel and walked up to my room. Very personal. Then again, I did check in around 6pm. Just walking the halls at night is fun, with...

We arrived expecting a "suite" which we had reserved. Instead we were given a room (18) adjacent to the roadside. Might as well have brought my tent. Very noisy. Rooms were less than minimal. No tissue, no water, no internet, toilet broken. Not a happy camper. With that said, the hotel is well located, but for an American traveler expecting...

Stayed three nights. Rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Parking is available and the breakfast is plentiful and tasty. Close to everything. Only complaint was very close to church with the church bells going off frequently, otherwise very quiet.

We chose Hotel Helgeand Wisby because we wanted to stay within the walled old city of Visby, and this hotel had rooms available. The hotel was at almost the furthest point within the walled city from the ferry landing (we arrived by ferry), so it was a longer walk than many other hotels would have been. The rooms were tiny,...

Stunning hotel all made in medieval style. The decoration is 100 % medieval and it is like stepping into the Middle Age but still with all the services needed. Beautiful and really nice ambience. We visit this hotel every year during the annual Medieval Week in Visby - absolutely the one and only place to stay during that week and...

Great location in the town of Visby, nestled in a residential area far enough away from the nightclubs and restaurants to guarantee a great night's sleep in their heavenly beds. We have stayed here three times now. The first time we stayed in the suite that has the four poster bed in the oldest part of the hotel that dates...

All over our expecttions. Perfect location in Visby and the room was romantic with medieval details mixed with modern design. The spacious hotel garden was great where you could have your breakfast or coffee / tea in the afternoon or just read a book / newspaper in a peaceful atmosphere. Friendly staff, always helpful and positive. We really appreciated our...

Hotel Helgeand is a medieval building in the northeast part of Old Town Visby, Gotland. The hotel is close enough to the action to walk to it, but far enough away that you don't have to listen to the action all night. It is furnished to look like a cute version of a castle (I doubt Medieval castles were this...

Medeltidshotellet, or Helge Ands Hotel as it called now, is a small (17 rooms) hotel in Visby. Situated only a three minute walk from the center of Visby, it is close to shops and restaurants. The beds ar excellent. I have a back injury that demands even weight distribution, and I still slept like a king. The interior of the...
