Novi was a nice resort to stay at on Gotland. The resort has a nice setting with pool and location by the beach. There’s a 15 minutes walk to the inner city and during a nice summer day it was very pleasant. Room was new and updated. Bathrooms were new and nice in the 2 bedrooms suite. Breakfast was decent with standard options at every hotel in Sweden/Europe. Staff was efficient but not overly friendly. One minus point is there is no room service (or the option was not mentioned in the room/during check-in). And the kitchen closed quite soon at 9:30.
We stayed 3 nights at NOVI in mid June 2022 in a studio Bungalow. Everything from the room, to the location & the breakfast were excellent. Right at the coast near Visby hamn. The sunsets over the shore from the balcony were breathtaking. Child friendly as well with play areas indoors & outdoors. The rates are also very reasonsble if you book early.
We’ve stayed with our teenage daughters for 5 nights while visiting my in-laws. Staff were super nice and helpful. The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. Because of being autumn we didn’t get to try the pool and breakfast was minimal during the week days but still healthy and good enough for us. Proper continental breakfast in weekend. Location is beautiful.
Great location right by the sea and walking distance into the old town. We had a room with a good sized balcony facing the pool area and open sea. Nice spacious room with own kitchen and dining table for 4. Good lighting as well which can sometimes be a missed area. Bathroom clean and bright with all the shower products you may need on offer. Big breakfast buffet with everything from bacon and sausages to chia puddings and fresh fruit. Free parking which is a plus when you travel by car. The few times we interacted with the staff they were always friendly and helpful.
There are few times when you are so disappointed as when your stay does not meet your expectations. Novi Resort does not deserve the name "resort". Obviously, the management has not been abroad and seen what a resort is for. The service is minimal, you do not even get a "hello" or "good morning" when you walk past the reception. The rooms lack what is usually found in hotel rooms. Admittedly, there were kettles if you wanted to drink hot water, but no tea or coffee. There were also no slippers or bathrobes. The bed had yellow stains and the breakfast was under all criticism. Only crispbread (pre-packaged from Wasa), yoghurt (also packed), dry sandwiches wrapped in plastic wrap and thermal coffee were served. The air conditioning did not work, which resulted in a cold overnight stay with unmanned reception. The service and the whole experience at Novi Resort was poor. I will not return and advise others not to book anything in this hotel, if it can even be called a hotel. Under all criticism. At check-out, the reception was unmanned despite being open. Tossed my passcards on the counter and walked away. Did not get a phone call afterwards, which is the last proof that Novi is a frivolous hotel. Catastrophic.…
Couldn't even get into the bathroom because of poor design (and I'm small enough to fit into a dishwasher to put it into a perspective). Low staffing, restaurant and bar was also closed. Lobby was only open during normal office hours. Plus for free and easy accessed parking and great view.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures this hotel needs major renovation we moved rooms two times and each room awful We checked out after one night (was supposed to stay four) thankfully we got a refund Not worth the money
Reception was very good and friendly, got a chalet which has a beach front view and near the pool so that was really nice. Would be good with a microwave too and a warmer pool. Jacuzzi was available but need to be booked with a fee. Breakfast was nice but the sitting was not quite close together and the plates took a while to be cleared so flies were everywhere. Cleaning of the chalet was ok, we had to ask for it to be vacuumed since we came from the beach, and the next day they didn’t come since the room service card was gone. Had to call the reception and when they replaced the towel, we had a damp towel which was slightly dirty folded among the clean ones, not sure if that was a mistake but wasn’t appreciated since there are no extra towels provided even though we asked for it.…
We stayed in one of the ocean front bungalow. It’s a nice space where you can cook, easily clean your laundry with the washing machine/dryer and have dinner on the terrace with a great view. But some things were a bit missing : the owner left the bare minimum kitchen ustensiles, nothing to clean the tables after eating (we used towels). It would have been nice to have a grill/bbq for outside since there is a terrace and it’s summer. The awning and blinds were locked and the remotes hidden so we couldn’t use them. The sofa might be stylish but not confortable. Also all the instructions booklets for the TV/washing machines were in Swedish, which makes it tricky for international customers. The breakfast is really nice though and the pool area very enjoyable. All in all satisfied, but for the price and the 4 star level, the hotel needs to pay more attention to details and step it up.…
Good location on the sea front. We had a bungalow which was great for a family but there where just little touches that made it feel a bit unloved. Lots of dead plants on the veranda for example. The hotel is almost really nice but everything need a little bit of attention. For example pictures standing on the floor instead of the walls and more dead plants around the pool. The staff where very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and nice that they provide a take away option.
