We are nature and wildlife photographers and when on a holiday we look for places which are isolated and comfortable. Puketi Heights (forestwalks.com) is the perfect choice. Ian and Barbara own this place and you feel that you have reached your own home (a dream home on a farm) as you get a very warm welcome from them. They instantly...

We stayed for two nights and it was most relaxing in this very peaceful B&B. Everything we needed for our stay was there in our room. The breakfast in the garden was a wonderful way to start the day. We enjoyed the night walk, cycling, the spa after a day out, freshly baked muffins! A very good experience.

We spent our first two days in New-Zealand in this B&B. We were quite tired because of jetlag and enjoyed the comfortable rooms, breakfast in the beautiful garden, the sounds of the birds... It is a great place to stay. Restaurants are not too far away and our hosts were very friendly! We felt very much at home.

I've recently returned from a month in New Zealand, and had the opportunity to stay for 4 nights at the Puketi Heights B&B in Okaihau. This lovely B and B is ideally located for anyone interested in spending some time in the stunning Puketi forest and not far from some of the towns in the Bay of Islands area. The...

I loved my stay at Puketi Heights. It was lovely to hear the native birds and have such a peaceful, restful stay. The hot tub was lovely too. The air is so clean and fresh and the outlook over beautiful farmland and forest was inspiring. The hosts are passionate about the area and Puketi forest, and freely share their knowledge....

This was my first visit to the area, and could not be happier with my choice of accommodation. The room was spotlessly clean, bright and airy, and the surrounding area and landscape a little bit of heaven on earth. Ian and Barb were great hosts, and their knowledge of the area, not to mention wines,is vast and extremely helpful for...

I came here 5 years ago and had such a great experience that I decided to bring my significant other here on this trip. It was just as amazing as ever with many new upgrades that made our stay that much more enjoyable. Barb and Ian are great hosts and have a true knowledge and passion for the surrounding area....

“If going with family (more than 2 people) choose the outhouse - it has two rooms which are detached from the main house and are the best for privacy and to enjoy the fields beyond.”
