Small town, ok hotel, not many options, so I was concerned. It was ok, but fairly old with need of an upgrade. Bed was comfortable for one night stay. A big negative was no fitness center. Service was poor with no sense of urgency. Just keep repeating, you have no choice.....

Hotel is visibly old, with some large areas partially refurbished like corridors and some parts of the room. However bathrooms are in terrible shape, very old with severe water leaks in showers and fawcets. No AC, which a hotel in this category should have, ceiling fans are available instead. Rooms are not the end of the world, but are greatly disapointing.

Breakfast is poorly organized, self serving, employees toss food trays on a table which ends up visually unappealing , glasses are dirty, cheap plastic jars are used for orange juice. Cutlery is kept in disposable take out plastic food trays. No effort is done in refilling anything and one must constantly beg to the person in charge for more coffee, juice, milk, toast, etc. Not the minimum possible effort to make breakfast enjoyable is made.

Hotel staff is rude and unfriendly. I arrived at the hotel at 14:40 after a 6 hour car drive, and the didn't want to let me in the room because check in is at 15:00 and it was obvious that they had rooms available. They made me wait in the lobby 40 more minutes. When I could finally register, the supervisor ignored me and started talking to the girl that was checking me in about an accountancy problem in the previous shift, she couldn't finish registering me, while the supervisor kept shouting at her in front of me and ignoring me. I had to wait 20 more minutes until they sorted everything out, which was not of my business. Staff barely says hello back and they look as if the guest was a bother and a low priority issue.

They obviously rely on the lack of competition as there are no other 3 star or more hotels in the city.

The only positive thing is that rooms and bathrooms are throughly cleaned.

The nice lady in the tourist office recommended this hotel and made a reservation for us for a renovated matrimonial. But when we arrived 15 minutes later, this room was not available (?) and the only option was a room in the old wing. It was to late to look for something better so we stayed in a cramped, dilapidated room that would barely have been adequate in a backpackers lodge.

The location is quit good, in the middel of town. And they have an offstreet parking.
Breakfast was the usual affair in a business hotel.

The City of Azul is a business City that used to have a great ambience. That has moved on to Tandil about 50 miles away. I needed to stay in Azul and had no choice one night but to stay in The Gran Hotel Azul. It is perfectly located but that is all that is good. The clerk was unfriendly and demanded payment upfront. The room was poorly done and faced the main town square. I had a symphony of noisy motorbikes and howling dogs outside my window. At 2 AM I went downstairs and chased the dogs away. The hallway to my room was painted dark brown or black. The light wasn't good enough for me to be sure. I kept my socks on in the room as I really didn't want to walk on the "carpet" barefoot. AVOID! PS The WiFi Doesn't work in the rooms, only 1 small spot in the lobby.
