Just been to the moorcock today, fish Friday, fish, chips, and mushy peas, 2 for £12, excellent value. The fish was freshly cooked, and all came piping hot, lovely! Staff very welcoming , can't believe the difference in this place since our last visit, Also judging by the number of people eating there today, it's definitely very popular now. Can...

Meals arrived after a 70 minute wait, food was cold, had beef carvery, meat was tough, carrots and corn were raw and who has sugar snap peas with Sunday lunch, broccoli looked as though it had seen better days, roast potatoes were dry and burnt and the Yorkshire pudding ....words fail me....one to avoid....we actually had reserved a table, might...

Been here a few times and never been disappointed. Arrived for lunch today and menu seems to have changed and is a little more limited. However what there is is traditional pub food and still plenty of choice. Cheese and onion pie is delicious and home made soups never disappoint. Usually couple of real ales on and wine is lovely....

Not a very extensive menu but good beer and superb Pennine views. Been here quite a few times and always been good. Plenty of Parking space and a nice rustic feel. Service a little slow but very friendly.

We met some friends here on the recommendation of a facebook friend who lives close by. We were not disappointed. Great staff who were very attentive and we all enjoyed delicious & plentiful food. It was a Sunday evening and was very busy so book ahead.

Extremely slow service. Bland unexciting food. Although I said underwhelming and mediocre my wife disagreed - she said it was a load of *****. Starter of Salt and pepper squid probably cost 50p to put on the plate and I think they charged five or 6 pounds. Chef really went to town and opened a bottle of Tesco's chilli sauce...

We visited today and ate the two course meal for Mother's Day £18, which is a good price. There was plenty of options to choose from which again is good, but for both myself and my partner the food that came was average. We ordered a child's meal for our toddler of fish and chips, no veg or salad was...

Was passing by and popped in for lunch. Menu was massive and plenty of variety. I had chicken and ribs not the best the others we were with looked nicer and my fries were under cooked. I ordered a dessert which was enormous and tasty plenty of cream , ice cream and chocolate. Surrounding nice and clean and prices reasonable

Excellent food and service. Our meal was very well presented and tasty. One of had the sandwich and soup which was superb, the chef clearly has a real passion for soups. The other had the trio of sausages, again a superb dish. The location is excellent, plenty of parking and a wonderful moorland location. Dave the owner made us very...

We booked accommodation on the recommendation of a friend. The pub is situated on the edge of the moors in a rural location. Check in was easy and we were put into the Owl room (all the rooms are named after birds). The room was surprisingly larger than it first seemed and had all the comfort you would expect in...
