We haven't used the room facilities as we live within 5 miles of the Boatyard - but have to say it's now our local. The attractive surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, great menu (regularly updated) - high standard of food, cleanliness and friendly attentive staff will keep us coming back for years. Keep up the good work guys :-))

Visited the Boatyard Inn having booked a trip on the Leeds Liverpool canal with Canal Boat Cruises. We arrived mid afternoon and was shown our room which was in a motel type unit across the car park. This was great as we could pull our car into a space right outside to remove luggage. The room was large with large... More

I booked this hotel via booking.com for myself and my boyfriend for convenient accommodation for a friends wedding. The room was outstanding. one of the nicest hotel rooms I've had the pleasure to stay in. However, the bed, whilst exceedingly comfortable, did have a slight ridge down the middle making it slightly obvious that it was two singles pushed together,... More

When we arrived we found that instead of the 2 rooms we had booked only one room was available ( we had booked via a hotel booking website and they had only asked for one room). The manager was extremely helpful and said that we could put our bags in that one room and that he could sort out the... More

Stayed for one night on business. Cheaper than the local Premier Inn so thought I would give it a try. The location is delightful. At 5.50 I was sitting on the river bank, there are plenty of chairs and tables, enjoying a cool pint. The food and service was second to none. Breakfast was piping hot and cooked to order.... More

We were greeted by welcoming yet very apologetic staff advising us that our family room was not available as the previous family had somehow managed to break the two single beds (!). They advised that they had arranged a second room, at no extra charge, however our children are only 6 and 2 and we wanted to be in one... More

The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. We booked two rooms and both had excellent bathrooms and a good level of cleanliness. I personally dislike bottled toiletries but this is a minor gripe. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our canalside location is a winner in the sunshine - sit back and relax with a long, cool drink as you watch the narrowboats float quietly by. And if the weather's not quite so pleasant, we've got loads of room inside with a choice of comfy sofas or dining chairs and tables. With great value food made on-site from locally sourced ingredients, our menu has something for everyone and the quality of our food is superior. Our bar has four beers on hand pump and we've got a great selection of lagers, cider, wines and soft drinks. And there's no rush to drive home after an evening at The Boatyard - why not stay in one of our six recently decorated and well appointed rooms. Then wake up to a hearty breakfast and grab a latte in our coffee shop before leaving. ... more   less
