Detailed Reviews
This place is an absolute gem and I considered not writing a review in case too many people discovered it. The décor, the gardens and artefacts scattered around display a huge talent for design and good taste. Two pools in delightful surroundings are deep and the whole place does not suit children which for couples is perfect. It is quiet and relaxing, the facilities in the room are more than adequate and the staff are friendly and helpful and unobtrusive. If you want peace, quiet and a touch of the exotic with great value this takes some beating.

I am very pleased I found this resort. Although I could only stay there for one night, it was the perfect place to select to stay. The there staff were excellent, and very helpful, and it was also very reasonably priced. The resort is situated in a lovely garden settings, with two swimming pools, and the bungalow rooms spaced nicely throughout the gardens. Highly recommend a visit.

I came after novembre 2013 now the second time at Baan Pictory Resort. I were wellcomed like a friend and felt as well as the first time.
A wonderful garden with two big and absolutly clean pools, ideal for swimming. The whole resort, garden, bungalows, apartments, rooms and restaurant are clean and extraordinary tasteful decorated.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent in quantity and quality, thai and french cuisine, very delicious for a reasonable price.
Whenever you need help or advices, the very friendly management and stuff will support you.
A perfect place for relaxing in a very amiable atmosphere.

As university faculty for many years I have traveled extensively and stayed at numerous hotels and never experienced anything like the nightmare I endured in this resort. I was on a business trip to Thailand but chose this resort because I wanted to visit the Buddhist temple nearby (Wat Yan). I was fooled by the reviews on this website and booked this hotel. I called on two occasions two days before my arrival from the US to ensure that they knew I would be arriving late at night (11:40 pm) and would need a taxi. When I arrived I saw no taxi driver with my name at the airport exit area. Nevertheless I secured an airport taxi and decided to call ahead to let the resort know I am on my way. By then it was 2:00 am in the morning and my repeated calls went unanswered. I was afraid of being left on road in the wee hours of the morning after traveling for 30 hours to get to Bangkok and then two hours from Bangkok airport to this resort so I ended up checking into a hotel at the airport to await the new day, but that was nothing compared to what was to follow. My entire 4-night stay had already been paid in full through Agoda (something you should never do).
The resort appeared to be empty but for whatever reason I was given a very small unit next to the office which had two rooms -- a sleeping area and a bathroom area. There was no space for even a chair in the sleeping area -- simply walking room around the bed. There was only one huge window in the sleeping area and raising the shade to let in daylight meant watching people walk to and fro on the walkway next to the unit while in bed.
The real problem however was that there was no real bath. Instead there was a hand-held shower in one corner on the wall in the bathroom area and a rubber mat on the wooden floor under it. People were expected to hold the shower and bathe and allow the waste water to find its way under the floorboard and I guess wait until the area dried up by natural causes. There was a closet at the other end of the room for clothes and a toilet right next to the rubber mat in the bath area so I imagine failure to control the shower could have disastrous consequences. When I asked for another room with a real bath the person who appeared to be the owner expressed surprise and assumed a bullying posture which was very disturbing. Nowhere on the website does it say that the room you are booking has no bath or that "bath" means the corner of a room with wooden walls and floor and a rubber mat to stand on at a cost of US$45 per night for the privilege! One can only wonder whether there are any required health and safety inspections for these businesses.
I had to gather my belongings and find another hotel in order to avoid a confrontation with the owner. I ended up spending only one of the four nights at this hotel and had to pay another hotel all over again for this trip.

Response from olivier j, Public Relations at Pictory Garden Resort
Responded 26 Apr 2018
So odd that a “university faculty” as you claim to be could write such falsehoods. To reply on each of your allegations would be a waste of time. Wishing you a happy life

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Staff were all very nice and helpful, the hotel is in a nice, quiet location. BuiIdings, pools and lounge are all very nice, spacious and new.
Some small cons: a few flying-ants around (I guess this is country life). I don't think there's any public transport to/from here, so you need your own car.

I was extremely pleased with my stay at Baan Pictory.
This 4-star hotel is very different from the typical commercial hotels which can be found alongside Pattaya beach. Because it is smaller in size (although spread on a 1000 s.m.!), the service was extremely flexible and focused on my specific needs. The size gives it an exclusive feel and the high-end, 'provencale'-style decor strengthens this atmosphere.
As for the price, I found it to be very competitive with respect to the service and amenities offered. I personally resided for 5 days in a 35 s.m. room and ended up paying 497 Euros, or 99 euros a day (breakfast is included, even during late mornings!).
All rooms are at floor-level and possess a direct access to an over-flow swimming pool (there are two).
An interesting feature of the hotel is the art gallery (situated in the club/lounge) which puts forward the artistic side of its creators. Books, DVDs, and various entertainment games including billiards and tric-trac are made available for free.
Baan Pictory is more than a typical hotel; it tries to set up a living experience, or "art-de-vivre", identical to what can be found in the South of France.
Highly recommended.

Feel cosy as home!!! The staffs are so friendly and willing to serve all you want.
All activities are provided such as snooker, petonque, two swimming pools, table tennis.... wow! we love them.
Unluckily, it does not connect to the beach, but need 5 minutes to drive to the much cleaner and quiet beach than Jomtien...
Surprisingly, they have a gallery at the clubhouse. Playing snooker among the painting atmosphere... where i could find such a nice atmosphere as here.
If we have a chance, we would come back here again (to stay and also playing with the dogs there... they are so cute.)

If in Thailand, we must also stay at Pictory Resort. It is by far the most relaxing place we have ever stayed. We visited for the third time, our favorite resort, in march, and had a wonderful week with the most beautiful surrundings you can imagine. A garden of flowers, palm trees, fruit trees, different bushes and birds singing. Mr. Antoine, mr. Olivier and mr. Yudh together with there long time staff, are the perfect hosts, that welcomes you and makes you feel like family.
We had our dinners there every night, and they went out of their way to meet our wishes outside of the menu. The meals were absolutely worth 5 stars, with emphasy on french cooking style.
The pools and lounge chairs and sofa are wonderful for relaxing and enjoying the peace and quietness, a big contrast to the busy city.
We stayed in a Domus house again, and enjoyed it emencely.
Thank you for the excellent breakfast, the good conversations, the well prepared cocktails, and the tasty dinners with beautiful background music, and for all the good memories we brought back to Denmark again.

I stayed in this resort for 4 nights & I was treated like a Queen. Breakfast is served individually , it's catered to you every morning. First, they serve an authentic Thai soup, then, yogurt, rice, & eggs or toast, then some fruits. You select what you like to drink .One time I reqwested a young coconut juice & they gave it to me. It made me feel very special. The manager upgraded my hotel room for free. The hotel have 2 swimming pools. One of the swimming pool have a wet bar , & there are lounge chairs all around one side of the pool. The opposite side is the entrance to the building of the dinning area. Each hotel room is individualy housed in one private one floor building with a porch that has a table & 2 chairs , & it's surrounded with shrubs , plants & trees. . The bedroom & pillows were comfortable, & the bathroom was clean, the shower curtain easily comes off , its the type where the shower curtain hangs down from a rod with extensions to be fitted on both ends to the bathroom wall. The wifi is free, but I had poor wifi connection in my hotel room, I had to go to the dinning area to get a better connection. They also have transportation service available wherever you want to go with a Fee. . They took care of all my transportation needs, & its flat rate fee for each service. The Service at the hotel was excellent. Highly recommend it.

For our second visit to Baan Pictory we were not dissappointed. Everything was just like we remembered it to be: Beautiful surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, wonderful mornings with a breakfast full of sunshine and intellectual conversations with the owners.
Every evening we had a magnificient dinner prepared just to our wishes, and served with elegance and charme. And the prices are very resonably. Even though our first visit was a year ago, they remembered our preferencies for dessert and liqueur. We stayed for 8 days at their Domus 4, and it felt like coming home. The hospitality of the management is beyond expectations. Thanks for the drive around to show us the developement of the area to Antoine and Udt.
This is the place to stay for adults looking for serenity and indulgence. And still this place is not further away than a taxi can get you to many beautiful places in no time. And Udt is always ready to arrange sightseeing for you.
Thank you so much for making our last days of our holiday in Thailand this year the very best again.
