The hacienda is a converted farm in beautiful grounds. The rooms are basic with grids on some windows that mega- mosquitoes could easily fly through. The drinks are extortionately priced. The cocoa tour is contrived and don't be fooled by the chocolate bar story. We were shown some bars in very attractive wrappers that our Belgian host claimed to be...

A very interesting hotel based upon an old farm. Very comfortable, but don't expect too much in the way of luxury. Grounds are beautiful, and the Cocao tour is interesting. Make sure you have plenty of insect repellent, because they are around, and quite hungry

Friendly welcoming owner. Nice staff. Rooms all pleasant though not easy to access with cases as gravel paths. Small bar needs help at mealtimes as guy has to wait at table and serve the dinner. Food is fine as is breakfast. Nice sunny pool but needs a few more loungers. Lovely gardens and owner gives an enthusiastic chocolate tour and...

The hotel is located up a dirt track off highway 4 and set in the forrest. The setting is lovely and peaceful until the large lorries drive by. Our room was large and spacious but there is no A/C and, as a previous reviewer noted, there is a slightly odd toilet arrangement. Be warned, there are also a lot of...

This was the most charming place. Lovely room although we are not great fans of open toilet failities!! The food was delicious. The staff and especially our Belgian host where charming. Loved Snappy tortoise but not sure how friendly he really was. We enjoyed our two night stay very much.

This is a great get away. Each room is in a set of 4 so you never feel on top of other people. Nice little swimming pool, and a humble restaurant which serves excellent food. Good rooms. It has a great nature walk in the grounds.

An historic hacienda that has been turned into lovely place to stay with nature walks, restaurant and cacao plantation. The owner is originally from Belgium. The rooms are atmospheric but basic with a slight rumble of traffic. The views and the surprisingly long nature trail are great. They do dinner in a lovely setting - tasty but a little over...

Spent 3 nights here. Lovely setting. The birds and monkeys around the place help you relax. Excellent food and service. The hotel is not the most modern but has a certain quaintness that grows on you. Nice pool and gardens. Enjoyed the walk through the grounds

We spent 3 nights at this most relaxing and hospitable lodge. The owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had the lovely Chapel room overlooking the courtyard and forest, great for birdwatching from the balcony and for hearing the howler monkeys in the trees close by. The restaurant and 'lounge' overlooking the pond was idyllic. We were treated...
