Staying in the Costa Rican rainforest was something we were excited about... we'd camped back in the UK and across Europe but nothing like this.  It took us about 2.5hours to get to camp in Sarapiqui (the Caribbean side of Costa Rica) from San Jose. We were immediately notified thatwe would be the only people on site that night and... More

This place is a must for wildlife lovers-more glamping than camping. Well appointed 'tents' with own bathrooms, verandas and double beds sit nestled in the rainforest - howler monkeys 'serenade' from the trees above and frog hunting is a must do led by the lovely Tony. Food is good and plentiful and the camp chef even taught us how to... More

This is a unique Eco-friendly resort set over hundreds of acres of rainforest. It offers glam tent suites with a small attached loo/shower. Each tent suite has two double beds - technically, a family with small children could squeeze into one, though space is limited. You might want to, though, as they are set in the rainforest! It gets dark,... More

We had a group do white water rafting here. The staff was bilingual, which was great for my Spanish students practicing their Spanish. They were great helping the confidence of my nervous students and kept everyone safe. It was a lot of fun and a great experience for newbies to rafting!

We did white water rafting at the hacienda. Well organized trip, good equipment provided. Excellent guides, scenic river with good class III-IV rapids. We had an excellent lunch in their restaurant. Highly recommended!!

For a stay in the jungle for activities the tents are a great base. They have ensuited and power and comfy beds and even has wifi although intermittent. Would be a lot better if you were provided with a welcome pack explaining how to get ice, coffee and where the nearest stores are. A shuttle run up to the adventure... More

A superb way to see and experience the jungle and grasslands of Costa Rica. Horses were very well behaved and energetic providing a great experience for riders and non riders alike. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone one to see Costa Rica up close.

We booked a tour with pozo azul through our hotel. They provided transportation which arrived at 645am to take us on a two hour bus ride through the mountains (which was a nice view) to their location. We arrived and they signed us in, and sat us down at the restaurant for a nice breakfast consisting of fruit, eggs, toast,... More

Staff at this hotel was really helpful and the food was great. The hotel has a restaurant which is very convenient since the hotel is in a quite remote location far from any other dining possibilities. They offer different kinds of tours going from ziplines to rafting,... The tent-suites are set in the middle of the rain forest. The surroundings... More

Dining rooms at Pozo Azul Hacienda are enclosed or you can sit on open-air porch. Local ingredients used for traditional Costa Rican food as well as steak and tilapia. Great beverage selection. Daily specials.
