Come and experience a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable stay in one of our Rajasthani cottages near the village of Setrawa in the Thar desert area. Setrawa is 103km west of Jodhpur and 200km east of Jaisalmer and is a village of 4000 inhabitants. The cottages are situated in a tiny hamlet 7km away, in an area of semi-arid land, predominantly sand and are circular with thatched roofs.
We were so happy that we stayed at Dev Bagh. It was the perfect place for us to get some rest and relaxation, which was needed after a busy time travelling around India. It is about an hour and a half out of Jodhpur near Setrawa village. Staff at Durag Niwas put together a great package for us that included transport to and from, food, Setrawa village trip, and a sunset picnic in the dunes. They can also arrange camel rides (which we did not do). The package made it so easy and we did not have to lift a finger for 2 days. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are new and feature steps leading up to the rooftop, where you can watch the sunset. The stillness and quiet here is very healing if you have spent time in busy noisy cities! I would recommend bringing warm clothes if you come in winter, as it gets cold at night. Don't hesitate to go, we loved it :)

I came to Setrawa as a wonderful peaceful weekend getaway during my time volunteering in Jodhpur. It was of great value to visit the life and community of the children I was teaching in Jodhpur, as all my girls come from this village. It was wonderful to experience this with my fellow volunteers and dear friends Govind, Virendra, Bunty and the team from Durag Niwas, which I called home for two months. The peace and quiet, sunsets on the roof, camel trekking, deer, antelope bouncing past, cooking lessons sat in the sand - desert style (possibly the best food I've had my 5 months in India) great company and local musicians. I was surprised at the high standard of accomodation considering how remote we were. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to revisit, thankyou 😊💛🙏

We spend 4 nights there, to make a workshop about hygiene for the Sambhali Trust association. It was very peacefull and quiet. Very nice place to be close to nature. Situated in the Thar desert, 100km ouest from Jodhpur, it's a very chill place, with a nice view for the sunset. The food is typical Rajasthan, the staff is very welcoming.

Unique setting to rest, chill and relax. Having a peaceful place in the Thar desert, surrounded by the sand dunes and animals of the guesthouse (horse and chickens). The staff is very welcoming, food is typical from Rajasthan. I am here for a month now as a volunteer teaching English in a government school close to the place, so people can stay longer as me to volunteer or just to enjoy some days and nights (with the stars).

Just a step beyond the hustle and bustle of Jodhpur and around, lies this beautiful little quiet place 'Dev Bagh'. Though it's my second time here, the beauty and the calm is absolutely impressive. The place has a rustic feel to it, yet comfortable and clean. The home cooked food is good.

I was so happy I could stay there. The stuff was so nice. The bungalows where super clean and fine! The food was just amazing and the entertainment in the evening was excellent. Thanks for making my stay so comfortable and just fabulous! I was literally so sad, when I had to leave... but I'll be coming back! I can just recommend to everyone.
