We stayed over the weekend to escape the heat in Basel. We used it as a base to explore, Oeschinsee, as well as relax a little at the hotel. The amenities are good. Breakfast was quite nice, with fresh bread, cheese and croissants. The only missing items would be some more cooked/warm options. The pool was in a warm humid...

This is a large older style Hotel, with a large lounge for guests with bar. The dining room is very elegant with chandeliers. Small old fashioned lift catering for 5 floors. I had a single room which was very spacious with a coffee/tea machine, TV but no other amenities, no safe. Timber floors which could be noisy especially guests above....

Stayed as part of rail tour. The previous 2 hotels were excellent. The staff were great and very helpful. For the size of hotel they could have had more staff perhaps. One lad was waiting and serving on the bar as well as interacting between restaurants.Good as he was there were times when he couldn't keep up the pace. Our room was comfortable but cold...

Stayed 3 nights as part of a rail holiday. Large and traditional Swiss-style hotel that one could imagine being the height of elegance 40 years ago. Rooms were spacious and bathrooms very roomy albeit over-bath showers were basic and with no mats provided could be dangerous. No aircon or cooling available. The wi-fi meant to be available in room didn't...

Great location with special views, expected given the location. Hotel was old fashioned in the best sense. Proper dining room with formal service, but unfortunately it was being used by a large party. Dinner and breakfast was in the restaurant, cosy and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful, brining in iPhone charger to help me with minor technical problems.

I have stayed at the Victoria-Ritter a number of times of the past few years. The hotel has a very loyal following. Not only have we had the pleasure of getting to know the staff over time, but we have gotten to know guests that, like us, come during the same week each year. The common lobby and dining room...

We stayed here as part of a Great Rail Journey holiday. First impressions were very good and meal on first evening was quite special. Unfortunately, meals on second and third evening were less fancy. Nothing bad, just not anything special. Breakfast is relatively simple continental. We had a huge room, with sitting room. Room was chilly and I spoke to...

Nestled at the foot of the mountains, this excellent hotel offers a tranquil and relaxed holiday spot. Close to the excellent railway, the hotel is easily accessible on foot. Very comfortable lounge and exceptionally spacious rooms/suites. Very good breakfasts and excellent evening meals. Super staff. Highly recommended.

I stayed for three nights on a rail tour, and the hotel had opened specially for us, it being between the winter ski-ing and summer walking seasons. The hotel is in parts over 200 years old, although there are more modern extensions. It has a lot of history and style, although some features were a bit tired. My room was...

A good size room but quite sparse. Comfortable nonetheless. Food was very good. We stayed on a half board basis. Hotel does not have many modern features but that probably added to its charm. Staff were excellent. Nothing too much trouble. The owners Muriel and Casimer were also around and very helpful. We were made to feel like one of...
