We booked one of the best rooms and it was great, nice furniture and high finishes. Breakfast buffet is generous and it’s worth trying the restaurant, it’s a bit on the pricey side but the quality is excellent! Too bad there isn’t a swimming pool, but the tennis court, garden and miniature golf are definitely a nice touch.

If you looking for a night of unrest and waking up with back-ache and tired, then this is the hotel for you. The bed is very uncomfortable and lumpy and even though we asked if there was any solution to be had we were told no. Though it must be said the receptionist was very sympathetic and tried to offer a spare pillow to put under my back. Mmmm think maybe she was far too young to understand the full concept of back-ache. We were woken up at 6am by noise on the road directly under our window...and again at 7 whith the loud clanking and banging of the rubbish truck. The shower (resembling a cofgin standing upright ) did however have wonderfull hot water. The rvening food in the restaurant was i think the only 4 star part of our stay. Overall very dissapointing

Our group of 16 in eight classic cars touring Switzerland stopped here for dinner and the night. While the location was convenient, the proximity of a road behind made the traffic noise audible in our room. The quality of the meals (dinner and breakfast) was quite good, but the service reluctant. Our room was spacious and the beds good. At breakfast, the only coffee available was a machine mixing powder with hot water: not up to Swiss standard! When I asked for "real" coffee, it arrived eventually, served with irony. Another inconvenience: works on the first floor blocked access to the upper floors where the rooms were. The only access was a small lift for two persons. We were not shown any fire stairs. The large garden and tennis courts are a plus.

Hi guys, on the road again for 2 days :) landed in this Swiss hotel. It is in the middle of renovation, we got with the team the nee rooms. Good points first: Nice rooms with AC, big bathroom and nice restaurant Not that good: Morning breakfast very poor choice, not to be like 4 stars hotel, the reception lost a reservation of my colleague, luckily they had a room...All the sanity of the area was done during the breakfast, big noise outside like dentist drill.. So all in all good for overnight, however improvements needed for a price of 220 CHF per night..

Nice, quiet, in a very green location. Very nice restaurant. Good deserts, delicious sweet fine from local winegrowers. Rooms cosy, but somewhat old school - but the hotel undergoes renovation and promises very fancy new rooms from July 2017!

I stayed here for two nights. The service was first class throughout from reception to departure. My room was very comfortable with some ornate features. It was a little tired, especially the bathroom. However, the hotel in undergoing some extensive works in these areas. The restaurant is light and airy with good space between tables. The service was attentive. The menu is extensive and the food was delicious. We also tried a glass of Swiss red and white wine, both of which were very good. These were recommended by a member of staff who helped us with some of the trickier translations. A lovely hotel, which had a relaxed and personal air, which I prefer to the impersonal approach of some larger establishments.

There was mold in the bath room at various locations. A picture fell from the wall on my bed while I was sleeping. Luckily I was not injured since the picture weighed ca. 1 kg and had a wooden frame. Nobody from the hotel cared about this incident.

This hotel has good points- 1)nice amount of green garden surrounding it to enjoy the weather and a drink- it does need this as situated on a busy road. 2) staff not rude or abrupt- helpful when asked 3) bus stop right outside to take you the 1km into the old town or station ( plus a huge car park if you have a vehicle) There really is nothing around the immediate environs 4) breakfast standard for Switzerland and 15CHF so ok 5) spa - but can't comment on this as didn't use it- they had provided bathrobes for this 6) we travelled as a 3 and it was great to have my son in his own little room within our room 7) very close to the thermal baths if you want to walk there BUT - we were in the loft of the building (floor3) and the ceilings are low, the room cheaply done out (think MFI) and no way of cooling down TO US A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP IS TOP OF THE PRIORITY LIST - this is not possible when the temp is hitting 30 degrees+ No air con No ceiling fan - nothing! When we asked at reception on day 2 for a couple of fans the receptionist acknowledged the top floor is very hot! When asked if this was a heat wave she said no- it was always like this in summer So they know but don't do anything about it I would not recommend this hotel I am afraid - which is a great shame - unless they fitted air con or at the very least ceiling fans.

Pros: 1) The restaurant was excellent. Large portions, very high quality, very reasonable prices. And the staff service was very, very good. Compliments to Chefs and staff! 2) Our room (#205) was spacious, quiet, clean, and with a large, comfortable bed. And the pillows were amazingly comfortable. We never heard noise at night, either from outside or from other rooms. 3) Bathroom was clean, shower only, very large cotton towels (2 bath, and 2 hand towels). 4) Sparling clean Jacuzzi and very nice dry sauna. Towels provided, wonderful rain shower in each changing room. 5) Wonderfully comfy cotton robe, with slippers, provided! 6) Staff are friendly, helpful and very professional. Management obviously has great pride in their hotel. 7) The Centrale Thermale is a 5 minute walk away. Note: for 35 CHF (Swiss Francs) you can get a package for 5 hours to use the health spa, all the pools, and the relaxation center with Jacuzzi, Japanese bath, 4 Saunas (2 dry and 2 steam) Slight negatives: 1) The steam sauna was not working. 2) The full price is stiff. We got a great discount, and were well pleased! I suggest contacting hotel directly for best rates (Front desk speaks English and French). Overall, with few choices of hotels, this one seems the best value. We really enjoyed our stay. Notes: 1) They have a wonderful Science Fiction museum in the town, well worth a visit! 2) The Chateau museum is amazing, and you can get an iPod with a great guided tour in English or French. They have 3 of the oldest examples of wooden canoes in Europe, and a really eclectic but well presented collection of artifacts from roman to modern times.
