This restaurant is just next to the trainstation of Morteratsch, so we decided to have lunch there before we walked to Pontresina. The view is great and on a sunny day you can sit outside and enjoy your lunch there. The staff is really friendly and helpful and the food is good. Furthermore they offer local food such as Rösti... My wife and I spent one long weekend at Hotel Morteratsch during early fall. The hotel is located in Pontresina at the train stop Morteratsch on way from Pontresina to Diavolezza and later on Bernina Pass anf further Poschiavo. We drove to the hotel and could park easily. The hotel is surrounded by forest, rocks, fields and very well kept... More

We booked a room facing the glacier - one of the most stunning views ice ever had!! The hotel staff was super friendly and accommodating - even towards a super energetic and sometimes temperamental toddler. The food is solidly good too. Would love to go back :)

The hotel is located just next to the train station "Morteratsch" which is on the route to the famouse train track of the UNESCO world heritage viaducts and the Bernina mountains. In addition the hotel is ideally located for hiking trips, i.e. The Morteratsch glacier is only 50 minutes walking distance from the hotel - we had a lovely, quiet... More

The road in to the hotel was quite scenic go past the gate til you get to the bridge.crossing the river. Great hiking trails. Train stop at hotel. Hotel room for 4 was a bit rustic, great for hikers. Restaurant good but a bit pricey.

Let me be clear, we didn't stay at this hotel but I wanted to commend their general approach. We were on a organised walk to the glacier and stopped here to go the toilet and get some hot drinks. They were very welcoming and not at all irritated that the group only wanted to make use of their toilet facilities,... More

Very mountainous, basic hotel. Some rooms with shower and toilet on the floor - but still very convenient, clean and nicely furnished. The restaurant made a good impression too. The breakfast was one of the highlights. Rich, with regional eggs, cheese, organic "Müsli" and many others. Very personal and friendly service. A romantic place to stay. The walk to the... More

I came to this hotel with my boyfriend, and it was a nice, romantic place to stay. It was close to a glacier and right next to the train station (couldn't hear the train at all) so it was easy to get to Pontresina or St. Moritz. We had bikes, and there were heaps of hiking and bike trails right... More

“Our room was next to the rail tracks. Despite trains coming in we slept well, rooms were quiet with windows shut. Loved the bunk beds, one of my better night's sleep.”

“Budget: Choose Al Vadret (opened in dec 2012) modern, perfect rooms nearby Morteratsch hotel 2 minutes walk, otherwise perfect rooms in Morteratsch hotel. Nice balcony rooms looking southwards to the morteratsch glacier. Super ski in the neighbourhood, as well as a train station...(to discover...)”
