If you're looking for a unique place to stay, this is the place to go. The access by car is not so easy, but this also what makes this place unique. The view from the hotel is stunning. The main dining room offers a selection of games, pool table, books... Once you're there, you can also buy a day pass... More

We spent 3 days skiing with a bunch of friends to celebrate my husbands 50th anniversary. Clementine and her colleagues make you feel at home the second you walk in. Comfy atmosphere in a big living room with a central fireplace, available books, billiard, boardgames, etc. Great and healthy breakfast, simple and healthy dinners. Wines on the expensive side. Comfy... More

We stayed at Plein Ciel for a couple of days in the summer. The drive up to the hotel was an 'experience' and not for the faint-hearted, I can understand why it is only accessible by ski lift in the winter. The welcome that we received when we arrived could not have been friendlier and on a wet misty afternoon... More

We visited for several days in July, principally for hiking in the beautiful nearby mountains. This hotel is principally a ski destination, and was rather quiet in the summer. Pluses: Extraordinary views, pretty good food, great access to hiking trails. Minuses: Accessible only by (in summer only) a rather poor road up from Champery or by cable car. The cable... More

If you want to get away from it all and feel like you're only surrounded by mountains, yet have all the modern amenities.... Plein Ciel is your place. The views are breathtaking, the terrace spectacular, breakfasts a feast, food not bed. You can easily walk from the top cable car to the hotel (even without rackets, just good waterproof hiking... The Hotel Plein Ciel is a gem of a find. Many chalets and hotels in the Alps claim to be perched on mountain tops but when you arrive turn out to be in a village with the mountains as a backdrop. This place actually lives up to its website promises. To get there is a bit of confusion (we are... More

This hotel used to be a lift station and a restaurant and it's now been transformed to a lovely hotel. Basic rooms but comfortable. Great lounge area with a fireplace and an amazing view. In order to reach the hotel, you could either ski for 2min or walk for 15min depending the snow.
