I spent a very comfortable night at this lovely resort. Located in a garden full of trees and flowers and birds it is a respite from the hustle and bustle of the village. I was put in a beautiful, light filled room with big windows facing mountains and hills and garden in 2 directions. Gauze screens allowed me to keep the windows wide open and enjoy the fresh air. In the morning I woke to the sound of bird calls. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, organizing tandem paragliding for me on the afternoon I arrived. What an amazing way to spend the late afternoon! Floating down from high above for about 45 mins, enjoying a bird’s eye view for miles around. The gracious owner invited me to join him and his good friend at his table for dinner. Excellent food and…
This place is pure bliss. I took valley view rooms on first floor. You can see the sky changing colours from the bed. Rooms are large with all amenities. Clean washrooms. But the best part is the food. His chef is MR Dogra, am sure he has magic fingers. Wonderful food, great ambience. Morning we went for a walk with the colonel. Bir is a pristine beautiful village. You must visit and stay here.
The place owned by Colonel and his family is a hidden jewel in the valley of Dhauladhar ranges. The hospitality of Colonel and his staff is praiseworthy and makes u feel at home. The food is amazing and what makes it even awesome is the fact is that most of it is homegrown(organic). For dog lovers (like me) there is a very friendly dog named Dash who gives u company anywhere when u roam around the sprawling greens. To sum it up I would say when in Bir look no further than Colonel's Resort.
At Bir we stayed at Colonel's Resort. It had been highly recommended by friends who had stayed there. And it did not disappoint. The resort is in the Bir Billing Road and is tucked away from the road. There are both rooms and cottages. We took the two rooms on the first floor which had lovely bay windows which trapped the warmth of the sun and gave a spectacular view of the sunrise. The hospitality of the Colonel and his wife is warm and very generous. His wife personally supervises the meals which are delicious as many of the vegetables are sourced fresh from their own fields. Its an ideal spot to spend one 's time in Bir as it is walking distance to the market and is on the way to the take off spot for paragliding. You can sit on the rolling lawns drinking endless cups of tea (made…
