The hotel is located at a nice place near the Tubingen castle. The outside view is perfect; however when you go inside, the room decor is not so good. Confort levels are not good with bad quality pillows. Everything here is written in German and it is very difficult for Non-Germans to understand anything. Breakfast was awesome!! The worst part... I stayed in this hotel for a week in June 2011 while attending a conference in Tubingen. I got a very small, tiny room with an 80-cm wide bed, a desk and a tiny, old TV on the desk. Almost no room for my laptop, and almost no room for myself. This was the smallest room in the hotel as I... More

A little late in writing this review. We stayed here in June as part of our 3 week trip through Germany. We loved Tubingen - what a great town. This hotel has received great reviews on TA so we booked it. Pros - I did like the location - right around the corner from the main town square. Nice patio... More

Wow - if driving you definitely need GPS or you will have great difficultly locating the hotel. The view from of the castle gate from our bedroom was delightful, as was being so close to the old town with it's fantastic main square where we sat and had a beer and glass of wine. We eat in the restaurant on... More

Very conveniently located, a brisk quarter-hour's walk from the main railway station and in the Old Town but a bit at the periphery, near the top of the castle mount. I had a quiet, large room, tucked away high at the back of the annexe; the next-door pub kept late and noisy hours, but I heard nothing as soon as... More

It is an interesting University town founded in 1477. The Hotel Am Schloss is at the top of the hill just below the castle. It's comprised of many small, old homes fitted with many rooms and is on a charming cobblestone street on a very, narrow, steep, single lane path. There is a bar on the street that many students frequent... More

We stayed at the Hotel am Schloss for one night only, on our way to the Black Forest. The hotel is located next to the castle in Tübingen, and very conveniently so, as you are from walking distance to the heart of the old town of the city. Parking was a nuisance, as there is only very limited parking available... More

Stayed here 4th of July week. Had a room across the street from the restaurant and next to the local bar. Room was in the back so it was nice and quiet, except for July 4 when other Americans apparently had been celebrating a little too much and decided to sing in the street. The room was fabulously clean with... More

Despite some trepidation after having read the warnings in Tripadvisor, I booked 4 nights at the Hotel am Schloss because it looked so quaint and picturesque. The room itself was spacious, clean, quaint, and comfortable, although like most German hotels, it had awful pillows and mattresses that weren't exactly on an American level of comfort. About the noise mentioned in... More

This hotel was booked last minute and it was a great room. Unfortunately our room was right across the street from a bar that was open until the wee hours, so we ended up switching hotels after a night. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were rather larger for what we figured and the bathroom was very clean. If... More
