This lovely hotel occupies an often photographed building towering over a small square on the edge of the old part of Meersburg. We had a room with a turret in it, which was lovely. The room was spotlessly clean with everything of a high quality. The only downside to the room was the very thin curtains and arched tops to... More

I made the reservation via Internet. The hotel was reasonably priced and the staff was very responsive to my inquiries. Upon arrival, I had some difficulty in parking my vehicle, however, the owner of the hotel took the time to park it for me in the hotel garage and advised should I need any assistance upon my departure, just contact... We managed to book the last two rooms they had, even though we booked quite early it is very busy in September. We were welcomed and parked our car (pre-booked) (very tightly) in their garage for our two nights stay for an extra 7 euros per night, as parking is very limited. The rooms are all individually decorated and very... More

Gasthof zum Baren is one of those places that remind you of why you went on vacation. The hotel/restaurant is steeped in tradition and both the rooms and the restaurant are top notch. The proprietors go out of their way to accommodate their guests and the rest of the staff are equally helpful and friendly. The location couldn't be better.... More

Our first stop on our 3 week tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Very nice condition and very clean and well kept. We had a turret room on the 2nd floor. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful and pleasant staff. I'd stay here again, no problems. One of the better rooms we had. We also ate dinner here one evening and sat... More

This hotel was adorable, located in the quaint town of Meersberg. We stayed in room 23 (the tower corner room). It was great. The rooms were kept very neat. It was an old hotel, and felt very homey and warm. The location is a 5 minute walk from the water. The breakfast was solid. the staff was extremely charming. This... More

Returned to to the Gasthof (and Room 22) for the second year running and was not disappointed. Clean hotel, firm and comfortable beds and pleasant ambiance. Location is convenient and afforded a perfect base from which to explore Meersburg. Breakfasts were plentiful and good and the staff friendly and welcoming as always. One does need to buy a WIFI card... More

Everything from the car parking to the breakfast worked out very well. Old worldly in a charming way without feeling old-fashioned. Dangerously large portions served in the restaurant :-). We stayed in room no. 23. I noticed that another reviewer had an issue with the room not being dark enough, but I did not have a problem with that (I'll... More

This hotel, although parts date back to the 13th century, is sparklingly clean, well appointed, rambling and packed with character. Our room was spotless and cleaned/tidied every day of our 3 days there. The breakfast, chef/owner and his wife are excellent. All the staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly and will put themselves out to assist with almost anything. Parking... More

Sitting right by the gate to old town Meersburg, the Baeren Hotel is a friendly institution, the building a recognizable landmark for 800 years. The hotel's website has pictures of each of the bedrooms, and you can choose the one you want when you book. We parked our car in a nearby garage operated by the hotel, along with all... More
