My wife always wanted to stay in a castle, so I arranged to stay here for our 25th anniversary trip with our teenage kids. Everything about this experience was amazing. The castle is fascinating to explore, with amazing views of the Rhine River. My wife and I stayed in Room 25, which is basically like a two-story house inside the...

What a wonderful hotel. This is a true castle with fantastic views over the Rhine Valley, and the ambiance is so full on you almost feel transported to a bygone era and incredibly spoilt. Although it is a castle with many nooks and crannies the rooms are large, atmospheric, with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. The grounds are very quirky...

This was our 3rd stay at the Hotel Auf Schoenburg over the past 24 years. We were in France and decided to fly home from Frankfurt just so we could stay there again. We were upgraded to room 33, a lovely room with views of the Rhine. The gardens and grounds are fascinating with lots to discover, the food is...

We stayed here the first night of our 15-day trip and it was perfect. Easy drive from Frankfurt and a great place to stay to get your bearings. It's a true Castle and the facilities are medieval, but oh so comfortable. We stayed in room

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. It's a real castle so you arrive with adjusted expectations, but the rooms were big, the bathroom modern, and plenty of places to explore. However the best part by far was the staff. Hard working, always smiling and nothing was too much. It you don't mind traveling a little...

We spent a week in Germany last year and really wanted to stay in a Castle. After searching we came across Auf Schoenberg and decided to stay since it was on our way to Amsterdam. IT WAS AMAZING! We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite off of the courtyard with our 2 girls. The staff were wonderful, the food was excellent,...

Burg Schönburg has a hotel, a restaurant, and a museum on the grounds. We didn't go into the museum, but stayed at the hotel and ate at the restaurant, so the review will only cover those. The grounds sit ~100 meters above the town of Oberwesel itself, and the views of the church and Rhine river valley are amazing. The...

Totally worth the expense - a tremendous experience. Room 34 has both a balcony overlooking the Rhein River and a bathroom hidden behind a bookshelf. Our children loved it. From welcome sherry in the room, to the convenience of the minibar being included, to and elegant dinner and lovely breakfast, plus wandering the quirky garden. A truly memorable experience!

Amazing hotel! You need stay there. It is not the cheapest hotel for sure, but it is a unique experience stay at the hotel. I booked one room at the top of the tower, amazing view to the river! In summer it would be great have the breakfast in the balcony. Also, you need to book together the dinner! It...

From the Sherry and apples waiting for me in the room to the incredible food in the restaurant, this hotel is not to be missed. The beautiful location could overwhelm a lesser hotel but the rooms match the views. The restaurant food and spirits were top shelf. The staff was everything you can hope for. I will be back.
