Our house is located in the southern valley of the "historic European city" Stolberg surrounded by the Harz forests with views of the castle of Stolberg and is an ideal base for exploring the Harz and Kyffhauser, for example, the "mountain of the Germans," the Brocken, by the Bode Valley to Hexentanzplatz in the valley, according to the Selketal Magdesprung by, or on a guided tour of Quedlinburg, Halberstadt, Werngerode, Goslar or Claustal-Zellerfeld.Of course, a trip to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial, Barbarossa, on the Kyffhauser, not missing the Europa-Rosarium Sangerhausen or the tradition distilling Nordhausen. For every wood gives something to marvel at the historic mines, the geologically very different caves, castles and palaces, or simply experience the Harz forest on a hike.

This family owned hotel is set in the most gorgeous picture postcard fairy tale village. We had an attic room which was comfortable and basic, (quite dated) although no fridge or coffee making facilities. T.V was only German channels and no internet. We had dinner and breakfast
