I recommend you stay here. I visited for four nights with my ten year old son and we had a great time. Logistics were great, accommodation comfortable (given the context) and the staff very friendly, helpful and informative. The other thing to say is that Maia expeditions (who run this operation) are completely trustworthy. Security is an important consideration when...

Myself and 3 friends decided to take a trip on the Amazon and a short trek into the jungle. Max from Maia Expeditions was the best choice. Max we very accommodating with our group and responded to all communications immediately. Antonio was our tour guide for the day. I will be back and I will be looking up these guys...

The Amazon Turtle Lodge offers the appropriate amount of luxury in a jungle that is anything but luxurious. We had the pleasure of meeting Max and learning about the history of the area and how the Lodge was developed. It is only 4 years old and its development is ongoing, thus earlier reviews may not reflect its current state. All...

Overall, the Turtle Lodge, which is operated by the Maia family (of Maia Expeditions), was a nice place with a great location within a couple hours from Manaus. The staff was friendly, the transfers were efficient and the rooms were decent. The lodge offered great access to hiking, wildlife spotting, etc. In the dry season, it is a fishing destination....

An unbelievable experience. The three+ hour ferry-bus-speed boat transit to and from the hotel is an adventure in itself. The confluence of the rivers near Manaus, the glimpse into a completely different way of life and of course the flora and fauna are all stunning. When you arrive at the hotel, you are truly in a remote part of the...

I visited Turtle Lodge two weeks ago at the end of July 2014 on part of a school trip. The whole amazon experience really was amazing, and is something I will never forget. I feel so privileged to have experienced life in the amazon for a few days. However before visiting Turtle Lodge, you must expect fairly basic (as many...

I have wanted to experience the Amazon for years, and the Amazon Turtle Lodge made our trip truly amazing! From the moment we left Manaus, Max and his crew did everything to make our trip one I will remember forever. After traveling about three hours from Manaus (by van and boat), we were welcomed by his friendly staff who met...

I have dreamt of seeing the Amazon since I was a little girl flipping through National Geographics and I couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one that I had with Max and his crew at Maia Expeditions. The lodge itself felt like a piece of paradise. The grounds of the property are beautiful, all built with sustainability...

We had the most amazing stay in this lodge. I've been to several eco-lodges before and this tops them all. There was hot water and electricity at all times (day and night). Our personal local guide (Rhildo) was extremely knowledgeable and really went out of his way to make sure we had an unforgettable time. He took us off the...

The lodge provides a perfect Amazon experience. It is located quite close to Manaus (aprox. 3 hours by boat/van) in a quite isolated, preserved and very beautiful region. In the rivers/channels around the lodge we could see dolphins, monkeys, caimans, lots of birds and other animals. The lodge's facilities are very comfortable (some rooms even have AC and hot water)...
