About 30 of us stayed here and I think we overwhelmed the staff at dinner! Asparagus Swiss noodles pan (Vegetable Spätzle) was magnificent apparently !. Other dishes all good. Rooms very respectable and not too far to walk into town. Small car park on sire but all OK. Nice feel about the place
This Hotel is the example of what all business/holidays/family Hotels should be. Being there is really as just being into one's own home. All is perfect. The location is just few hundred meters from the Cathedral Square. The town of Wetzlar could easily be called the Portofino of Germany.
This is my favorite hotel in Wetzlar, Hessen. Old School for sure, the place is like your auntie's home. The restaurant (lower level, direct street access) is open again (closed on Thursdays) and very good, food and wine are good value.. The wooden walls have style. The staff is also nice and happy to help. I like this hotel and would recommend it to anyone after a non standardised hotel.
I have stayed regularly at this hotel over 30 years. There is a very low staff turnover so you are always made personally welcome. The rooms are clean but simple as is the bathroom. Breakfast is rather good and the hotel makes its own preserves. Parking is limited but early arrival (before 4pm) usually has spaces available, otherwise it is road parking. The general decor is classic old style German and very relaxing.
This my 2nd time in this hotel! It is quite, clean hotel with a friendly stuff, excellent breakfast, creat trace for beer in the evening😄, perfectly located near the center of Wetzlar. I am warmly recommend this hotel
An old style building. Easy to access.has parking lot. Nice breakfast at a nice hall 👍 Rooms are enough comfy but i didn't like the pillows, really wide but very thin. The dinner menu is perfect, i like the content. The employees are kind.
We stayed three nights in the hotel whilst attending the towns Summer Wine Festival. An older style hotel just above the old town. The hotel is really comfortable and the staff were lovely and helpful speaking good English. We only had breakfast in the hotel which were excellent. Buffet style with a good range of food. Would thoroughly recommend and we will return.
This was a one night stay for a business trip in the area. Wetzler itself was really interesting and pretty, with many traditional building/ houses. The hotel was nicely suited to a short business stay, with a comfortable bed and good bathroom. It has a lovely sun sitting area which was light and airy, with a small bar. The restaurant and breakfast were fantastic too. Note that it is in a hilly area.
And old style hotel with small lobby bar and outdoor table. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are comfortable but a little old fashioned - not a problem. Breakfast room is cosy with enough choices for a good breakfast. Had a good meal in the basement restuarant which was fine. Nice location - easy to walk downhill into the City centre and good exercise walking back up to the hotel. Will stay here again. PS - Excellent Jam
I stayed at the hotel for business in December for a week and found it well-situated but outdated and below my expectations. The room has a nice size but the old grandmother furniture does not make it attractive at all. The bedding does not cover the entire bed, may be a German thing, and there was only one pillow so I had to ask for another one to make the bed more comfortable. The bathroom has a pink tile that makes it look very outdated and there is no shampoo, soap bar, gel shower or lotions available. The liquid hand soap is all you get for all your needs, and unfortunately, it has a strong perfume so I did not use it on my body and had to buy something outside. The WiFi comes and goes; and when it is on is a bit slow. The lobby is even more outdated that the rooms though the breakfast buffet is nice and has a good choice of meats, cheese, breads and fruits. Overall, the look and how outdated it is turned me off. The folks are neither friendly not rude, just there. If I am back, I would try another place to stay.…
