The limits of the TA review system means this hotel is either average or very good and its neither! Comfortable and clean with friendly staff. A small but adequate bar and a restaurant serving above average cuisine. Excellent location for the old town. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is in a good location, has a nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner. For dinner the prices are not so good, but it's important to have that option a few steps from your room. The emplyees speak english and are too kindly and atencion. Near to the mall, near to the squares where you can find pub, stores, restaurants and more.
Not much to say. The hotel was functional, and the rooms clean. However, the bed was quite uncomfortable - way too soft. The springs in the mattress had simply lost their spring. As Wetzlar is one boring town, I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise that the hotel's surroundings were also boring.
Even though the price was hefty, it was a pleasant surprise. I expected a charmless business hotel and that's what it looks like from the outside. However, what I found was an incredibly friendly and caring receptionist, a fun sports bar and a pool which was opened for me during non-opening hours for some early morning workout. Really enjoyed my stay.
The hotel as such can be very good. Rooms are spacious and clean. Mine had a very small bath but acceptable. What is not acceptable is the noise level. You can hear every movement inside the hotel even if guests were very silent as walls are letting noises pass. The bed was very used and the rigidity of the structure (I am not talking about the mattress) was not allowing myself to lay correctly. But maybe my room was unlucky. Breakfast was good, especially the scrambled eggs, and quite variegated.
On arrival, if you are lucky you can park for nothing in front of the hotel. Otherwise, it's just a very short distance to the underground car park next to the Stadthalle. On the third floor we had a balcony with a fine view. The bathroom was sizeable with a good shower and also a big bathtub. You can usually breakfast on the terrace in summer but it happened to be raining when we were there. No matter, the breakfast room is spacious, light and airy. Breakfast was very good – the scrambled egg was still fresh at 9 am and the fruit was fresh, not tinned. The only deficit was that the Wi-Fi did not seem to work, either in the bedroom or in the reception area. We enjoyed our stay and would go again.
Dear friends Just to let you know you go to one of the nice city in germany Small town with great coffee shops The hotel is nice have restaurant outside with very good food Rooms are nice and small But for business or couple is great solution So I say YES
Everything is good indeed. I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights so this is my experience.there: + Cozy, clean rooms; + Polite personnel; + Tasty food in the restaurant. - Wi-fi connection is poor on the 4th floor.
I've stayed at the Wetzlarer Hof several times now and it's always been a well kept hotel, however it's now in need of some TLC. The bathroom in my room had several issues and the coat hook was falling off the wall (a minor detail I know but hanging up your coat is the first thing you tend to do, so a first impression). As my company uses this hotel a lot we’re on a special rate and so get the smaller rooms and hence usually I’ll end up in a single bed, not my preference but not really an issue. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the restaurant is always one of the best in town, and on this occasion I had the best meal of the trip here, well presented and perfectly cooked. I’ve rated the hotel as a 4 but really it’s a 3.5 at the moment, saved only by the quality of the restaurant.…
This is my 3rd stay in this hotel, it keeps getting less charming every time: bed cover sheets that looked worn, toilet seat that could some fixing, room lightning that keeps fading or got neglected. If your room is just above a smoking-type one, you're for a nasty surprise! Or you can wait till 2014 when the hotel will turn completely smoke-free. On the brighter side, breakfasts are always great, as expected from the German culinarily hospitality. The hotel is quietly located in the old upper side of the town, so consider some 15 minutes walking to the downtown center and mall. Staff try their best to be helpful despite the language barrier.
