Me and my wife has been there for a night. The location is really beautiful immediately behind the Karmelitan Kloster. The room was a bit too small, but clean and nice. Unfortunately the hotel is a bit noisy because of the old structure where it is hosted. We had a problem with the shower but the day after the receptionist... More

Stayed here as two couples for two nights, the hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the old town up a fairly sharp hill which may cause issues for some but we enjoyed the late night stroll back after some of the local beers . Taxi from the train station was €11 each way as it is quite a... More

Positive: The location is super, you are right next to the old city, the parking is also available, just mind that it's not free. The room was also very nice. Breakfast was delicious. So the hotel is definitely worth the price. Question mark: What left a big question mark for me was receptionists. We arrived on December 24. I was... More

After reading some other reviews we weren't sure what to expect, but parking was not a problem. Checkin went easily. The rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet is pretty awesome. We spent two days walking around Bamberg after leaving our car in the hotel parking area and though we logged over 23 km during those two days I'd still... More

While the room was small, it was just fine for me. What really set it apart was the location -- very close to the old city, it has a great view, and it was just kind of cool to stay in a closter/monastery.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Arkaden Hotel im Kloster, and have not been disappointed! Our room was huge and comfortable, the breakfasts outstanding and the staff could not be faulted for efficiency and friendliness. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the cathedral and the city centre.

It was a challenge finding the hotel when we arrived in Bamberg in the early evening. It is a bit off the center of the hilly city. But people we asked on the street were very friendly and helpful. We quickly found a parking spot in front of the hotel. Check-in was efficient. Our room was small but not oppressively... More

Nice hotel, but don't go by car. The parking is super expensive (24€per night!) and the system to get a discount as a hotel guest is very confusing. And the ladies and gentlemen at the reception are not very helpful...to say the least. Slaves to their own high tech system there is nothing they can do to help you...sad and... More

I chose this hotel for the reasonably priced family rooms within walking distance of the centre. I was pleasantly surprised. There is paid parking next to the hotel but as we were there on the weekend and at the right time we got a free park on the street. We were warmly greeted by the reception staff and the service... Excellent hotel for visiting Bamberg. Located in an ex convent, the rooms have been decorated and furnished to a high standard. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was modern and well appointed. We didn't avail of the breakfast so can't comment on that. Wifi was a bit finicky, you had to force it to re-establish a network connection every so often. The... More
