As the Pandemic made international travel difficult, my friends and I identified Tanzania as one of the few countries that we could all visit without having to quarantine. I found Altezza at the beginning of January and knew that we didn't have much time to plan our trip with our desired start date of February 6th. Altezza owns and operates Aishi Machame Hotel, which provided a lovely start to our Kili adventure. Altezza picked us up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and Joseph drove us to the Aishi Machame Hotel in a car with WIFI. He spoke perfect English and helped explain the region to us. Despite arriving around 8pm, Julia and Tony, greeted us at the Hotel, showed us to our room, helped us get dinner, and did a thorough equipment check with us. Tony's equipment recommendations were really helpful and ensured that we were setup for success on the mountain. The Aishi Machame Hotel is delightful and accents the Africa experience while offering great accommodations. My friends and I stayed in a three-person room and I was very impressed with the room, shower pressure, hot water, and linens. The restaurant features a three course menu with a couple of options for each course. The food was delicious! Finally, the grounds of the hotel are beautiful and we saw several monkeys, which was fun. Altezza climbs includes lodging, breakfast, and transportation back to the airport too!

I stayed for 2 nights at the hotel, before and after my Kili climb. Since it was my first trip to Africa and I was travelling solo, I was looking for some specific things in the places that I chose to stay during my trip. The hotel was spic and span, the staff was super friendly (esp. Kezia & David - please ask for them when you visit the place) and the chef was also extremely nice to alter the food as per my needs. I felt at home and everything was extremely safe for a solo female traveler. The hotel is in a quiet place but is still well connected, around a 20 min drive from Moshi town and around 45 mins away from Kili airport. Basic facilities like hot water, good quality toiletries (except dental kits) and a pedestal fan are therein the room. Convertible adapters are available at the reception at a $5 deposit. Please carry mosquito patches as the hotel is surrounded by greenery and by the way you can also spot a variety of animals in the garden :) The hotel can assist with cars for local travel, safari as well as Kilimanjaro climb details as they have a tie up with Altezza travels which is a leading tour and travel agency there.

We stayed at this hotel for a week while touring the Kilimanjaro National Park, Arusha Park etc... prior to my Kili climb .... The hotel is a peaceful place to stay in the area. The atmosphere is cosy and warm ... The gardens are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable enough for us to stay that long...The hotel compares very well with Western standard 3 to I would say 4 star hotels , especially by Tanzania standards. The hotel staff are very welcoming and professional, food is excellent and cooked on demand .... The restaurant is very cosy overlooking a big garden from where you can hear the river a few yards away ...Breakfast is excellent, with a great variety of options... Mineral water is offered daily...Excursions to nearby places of interest are available from the hotel, as it looks the hotel is also a tour operator. We used the services of their operator Altezza to climb Kilimanjaro. On the way back from Kili, we stayed another 2 nights... the hotel is so cosy and in the middle of forests and gardens to the point I was reluctant to leave!! I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to the most discerning customers...

Very nice and friendly staff, rooms usefully equipped, peaceful place to be. Out in the forest - excellent starting point for safaris and tours to „the Mountain“ or yoga classes. We had breakfast and dinner included which makes sense as there is not very much else going on with regard to restaurants. Pool availiable. Over all - good value for money.

Looking for 5 star Paris luxury? Well you’d better go to Paris, because this not Paris. Its 5 Star African charm. The Aishi hotel is a British colonial design building and the rooms are large with big windows, high ceilings, lots of timber and a very comfortable bed. The rooms do lack a few mod cons like a telephone but who cares, we’re in Africa. The hot water takes a while to come through in the shower but you are warned about that at reception. The Aishi restaurant lounge and bar on the other hand are very African. Loads of timber, thatching and bamboo overlooking a lush garden and pool. The food is excellent although there is a limited choice on the menu and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The Aishi Machimi is probably a 3 or 4 star hotel but what makes it a must do are the countryside surroundings and its proximity to the Kilimanjaro walking tracks. The hotel can also assist with your trek up the mountain.
