A rare combination of pathetic management and great location. The property is located at the best viewable location in Arakku Valley. But as you enter the compound, you will find the building is in terrible shape. If you get a room on upper stories, you may have a better view from there, but remember to walk 30/40 steps up and down everytime you want to come to lounge or restaurant or going out. And you do have to come down often as there is no room service available from the restaurant. Rooms are not at all well maintained. Pillow covers are stained. And less said about the toilet seats is better.
Breakfast is complimentary for two in the room. You will have to collect breakfast coupons from reception and go to restaurant for a paltry "complimentary" breakfast. Reception and Restaurant have no coordination between them.
Never think of any intercom service here. If you want to connect with reception/restaurant, you will have use tour cell phone.
The only silver lining is, as mentioned earlier, the location and the view.

We two families visited this facility on 25th December, 2021. The good points about the resort is that they have a pretty big property with lots of open garden space. The landscaping is really good. They even have a small park with simple play stuffs like slides, see-saw for the kids. The room s are pretty big and airy and sunlit.
The biggest negative point is the mismanagement. We had to wait for 20 min just to get the room keys, because someone was looking for the keys...thats hilarious. Then there was no towel available because "they were being dried"....what a comedy show! They were very nice that they organized a bonfire in the evening. We also had some snacks for that part and paid in cash to the waiter who carried all the snacks. Next morning, we were again charged for the same snacks. We had to clarify that we had paid for that the evening before. They agreed and no conflicts were there. Finally during the complimentary breakfast, they had the same menu for everyone but no buffet table was arranged, instead they carried dishes for each one to the table. That was completely unnecessary and caused delay for everybody. Oh, By the way, Their intercom does not work either...hahahaha

Very poor maintenance of the premises though vast area is there. Attitude of the staff is not satisfactory. As it being run by the government, the staff are not keen in offering professional services to the travellers. May be, at the end of the day they get their salary, even if travellers visit or not. Should say ambience is great. Also, the premium suite where we stayed is very spacious.

2.No Lift
3.shady rooms
4. No slippers no dental kit no bodywash no mosturiser is provided. Even you have to ask for towels.
5 . They have kept a phone for show but it does not work.

I have booked aptdc Haritha valley resort on line expecting it to be a good place for a family stay.
It is in proper area with good space for parking. But believe me the staffs are horrible.rooms are not taken care of, TV is not working and adding more to your sorrow the reception does not bother to attend to your call for any assistance.
Anyone who wants a pleasant stay here in Araku please avoid it anyway.
I was lucky to escape with a lone night stay here.

We have send our guest to Haritha Valley resort, Araku on 8th of March 2018. They were staying Room No. 801. It is very unfortunate to got a bad remarks from our guest. As per our guest comment "The whole hotel campus is at under construction. Room service was very poor. Nobody had taken care off. Guest asked them to cup of tea at 6:30 am but they did not get it. They are charging extra person cost directly from them but did not provided breakfast. The window glass had broken. Door clip is very poor.

I went to Arraku valley on 30th March and booked the harita valley resorts a month back only to realize the big mistake when I landed there . The hotel front desk was speaking like a government officer doing a great favour by processing your application. When I asked for the towel soap and toilet roll he said he can't give these before 12 noon. I checked in at ~10am. The toilet basin had probably more cracks than the famous Bora caves. The toilet seat was broken and may be looked like the free public toilet. After settling down I decided to take a short nap . At 1pm the power went off. I called the front desk and waited for some to knock my door. I wad so tired that I fell asleep , when I woke up at 4pm as there was no ac, I realized that no one had come, so I walked up the front desk about 200 mts away and asked for the complaint book, after a bit of argument I was shown a number where I can call. This was the number of the so called officer responsible for the resort. When I tried to reach his office I found there were others who were trying to reach him for various complaint. The sad part is that this person has probably never had any customer handling experience.
I tried to persuade him to get the me the complaint book . He said there is no complaint book and asked me log on to the aptdc site to log a complaint. I couldn't find any such link on the aptdc site hence I am venting out my frustrations here. So if you decide to chose aptdc make sure you keep your expectations very low or get a aptdc officer to talk to the hotel so you get reasonable service.

We went to araku with our family members. We took the morning train to araku, train was late and we reached there at 11-45 a.m. We booked deluxe rooms in this hotel from APTDC booking office one month back. The resort looked very well maintained from outside, with nicely made garden and clean surroundings. When we reached at the reception, the hotel manager allotted first floor rooms to us, but as we reached the main building, the housekeeping staff insisted us to take ground floor rooms, because they told first floor rooms were being cleaned, and it would take approximately 30 minutes time. It was almost 12 pm and till that time the rooms were being cleaned, though their check-out time was much earlier. But we agreed to wait for another 30 minutes to get first floor rooms, because ground floor rooms did not look good. But still after more than 30 minutes, there was cleaning in progress. Our parents asked one of them why there is so much delay, and they started discussing in between them for long time in their local language, without even bothering that we were waiting, and then one of the staff came to us and told that they could not provide the previous rooms to us. We were told that the geysers in all of those rooms were not working, and we have been allotted other rooms. We went to those rooms, there was just no view of the garden, it was totally obstructed by the building in front of this. We again went to the reception and talked to the manager. He agreed to give us the previous rooms, but he told us that it would take some time to call the electrician and to repair the connection to the geysers. Our parents and relatives liked the rooms, so we agreed. After checking in we saw that the geysers were working properly. I don't think in just 5 minutes that took us to reach the building from the reception, and checking in, the electrician was called, he reached, and also repaired the connection. We could not after all understand what was their problem in giving these rooms with view, to the people who already booked beforehand. The rooms are very poorly maintained. Toilets are not clean, the toilet flush of one of the toilets was not working, and water was leaking continuously from the cistern and was staining the toilet (uploading the photo), the towel holder in two bathrooms were missing, walls were stained and damp. There was colour television but the remote was not there in our room, we had to manually operate first, and then we took the remote which was there in only one of the rooms, to operate all the TVs. Blankets were provided, which were very small, dirty and torn. Food quality is average. The staff are indifferent and have a typical careless attitude. I had stayed in many government properties before this, but never ever had such a terrible experience. At the time of booking, we were told that tribal dance program is arranged in the evening, but it was not such, the program is as per the schedule of APTDC rail-cum-road tour (which was nice), no extra program. There is a swimming pool, with dry and rotting leaves floating on water, and dirt at the bottom, so we preferred not to take a bath in the pool. I wish we would not have booked rooms in this hotel. the only positive point of this resort is the exterior, clean and looks so good in early morning. We will definitely never ever go back there.
