A dormitory of 12 bed, okay food and a namesake service, But keeping in mind that it is situated on a trekking route and not a road, these amenities including hot water and snacks seems more than ample for a person interested in trekking. The staff was cordial, security isn't needed and rooms are maintained. One thing I truly admire about GMVN is their commitment to provide lodging to tourists even at the remotest of places.
Above the village of Wan a series of three single storey buildings one complete but not yet furnished) with very basic rooms, washing facilities (cold), toilets (European style) and electricity. There is a resident manager who will cook for you (we had our own cook). The Rest House looks up onto mountains and down to the main village in front and a relatively large Hindu temple behind. In front there is a garden with quite colourful flowers where one can camp if one prefers. The verandas provide welcome relief from the hot sun. We used a bedroom with two double beds (we were the only occupants of the room) and an adjoining toilet and washing facilities. The bed was clean as was the bedding (pillows, sheets and blankets). This is a basic Rest House - for Europeans please note it is for those who either like or can withstand austerity. For us it was a welcome change after a few days camping and trekking. Ratings do not mean much - those used to 'proper' hotels would probably give it no or one stars but for us it was a welcome interlude. Unfortunately as this appears to be the first review there is no option to upload photographs.…
