Attraction of a river side is irresistible to us. We keep rushing to Rupnarayan, Ichamati, Damodar or Ganges periodically. Diamond Harbour, Falta, Taki, Gadiara or Kolaghat - these routes are frequently traversed. One fine morning we decided to spend some time at the banks of Rupnarayan. Sonar Bangla is the best option at Kolaghat, great location. But the way 6/7 house keeping staffs surrond the checking out guests hoping for tips - that's an eye shore along with high tariff and mediocre food. So we started fiddling around with Larika Inn, Rupsi Rupnarayan Kuthi and two other mid budget hotels. MakeMyTrip showed a room at Rupsi Rupnarayan Kuthi for 6,500, but on ditect calling we got a three-bed river facing super deluxe room (first floor with balcony) for 4,500. Its little costly than allotted budget, but after arriving there we got our value for money. I will never miss Sonar Bangla again. Now let's talk about pro's and cons. What we liked: While lying on the bed, while sitting at the balcony with a cup of coffee, while in the swimming pool, while at restaurant, while walking in the park - whenever, wherever you look - its Rupnarayan right in front of you! Very good food. Undoubtedly better taste, quality and spread than Sonar Bengal at a proportional rate of price. Great swimming pool. There are also two smaller pools with shades for the little ones. There are pool chairs. There ate shower rooms. Everything is clean, well maintained! Pets are welcome. I got a new friend here, Leo - an adorable golden retriever. We got professional staffs, including the house keeping - way better than Sonar Bangla.. We had to search for the one who gave us the most service to give away the tips. Got a good location. Where Sonar Bangla ends, Rupsi Rupnarayan Kuthi begins, same location. What we didn't like: There are two mini fridge slots in the super deluxe room but without a mini fridge. Had it been thete I wouldn't have to go to the kitchen to keep the beer cans! Breakfast is complimentary. Taste of food is good but the food is unreasonably costly. Value for money on food - not found. I couldn't find any shade on the passage leading to the dining space. Those who came to provide room service during rain, came wet. It is better if the authorities look into this. Check out at 10am! Could not afford to wake up late on a holiday, couldn't afford to have a slow relaxed breakfast either! Can't they allow another hour for checking out? Hardly anyone would reach there by 11am (their check in time) for a relaxing trip. Instead of 10/11, it would make more sense for 11/12.. Conclusion: Great place for a one night relaxing luxury stay. Also a very good location for photography/photoshoot. If you have dinner at the hotel and lunch at a standard dhaba/restaurant on the highway at Kolaghat, tongue, stomach and bank account - everyone will be happy.

We spent the first weekend of June in this property. We were five families. The location is nice just beside Sonar Bangla Kolaghat, beside the river Roopnarayan. Though there is an encroachment beside the river now due to some construction work. The major disappointment was the highly overpriced food menu. It's at par with any five star hotel. An avg lunch (rice, daal, potato chips, chicken curry - shared) for a family of three cost us 2000 rupees. Pros: nice location, property is new, rooms are good with balcony, service is prompt, allowed pet, car parking Cons: room rate is high, pool is not well maintained, food is bad and very much over priced.

DO NOT Visit this Resort Review of Rupasi Rupnarayan Kuthi Pending review Attention:- DO NOT VISIT THIS RESORT….I seriously warn people from visiting this resort. I visited this so called “RESORT” with my husband and a couple friend last wekend (20th -21st May.23). We had a horrible experience .. I have been badly infected with an eye infection….because of their unclean swimming pool… which has frogs in it…. .Do not visit this resort at all… they cheat their customer by charging exorbitantly for the food items … which is way beyond reasonable… the staffs are rude and do not pay any heed in solving the problem of their guests at all…. Do not fall in the trap of reasonable tariff rates of the room …as they later on once you visit their hotel, charge you so exorbitantly for the food price… that you can not imagine ( the prices are almost equivalent to 5 star properties). Further the swimming pool is soo dirty and unhygienic ….with no maintenance at all … and now I am paying the price of it by being infected with an serious eye infection..More Date of stay: May 2023

Visited this place for a night with family. Rooms are decent although linen has a worn out look. Not very well maintained... Limited options within the property as it has a small lawn and limited entertainment options. Food is very expensive but good in taste. I felt that sonar bangla is more value for money. Staff is well behaved and helpful

I have visited this place with family and friends and stayed there for a night (19.11.22). I booked it thru' MMT. After booking I have contacted Mr sayantan Bag of the property for my preference of rooms and foods, all the time I received very courteous behavior from him, he has fulfilled all my requirement with a nice gesture. The rooms are very good, well maintained, Lawns not very big but very nice. The behavior of the staffs are nice .My experience of a similar property in the vicinity was opposite to it. So I prefer to visit it again. The main attraction of this resort is its quality of Food, it is above excellent, and I am sure you will enjoy and remember the taste of its food quality. The ambience of the restaurant is very good. We have enjoyed the stay at RRK.. Dr J P Chatterjee Kolkata

We took a day trip to Kolaghat on a flash decision. What came out was a mixed bag of experiences. This is an unbiased review highlighting the pros and cons you need to know before you visit, . The Pros & Cons are: Various people have mixed behaviours, and the support staff are far more cordial than senior managers here. Maintenance: Room maintenance is poor, but rooms are good. Lawn and property are kept clean, no complaints. We were taken to an unclean room at first, but on complaining, it was changed. Pool Pool is simply heavenly, especially in the rain. We had a great time there. Food Food quality is poor and stale, even though there are many people in the resort. The crispy corn clearly gave us a stale flavor. This was a complaint heard from others who stayed here as well. Plus we found that the food was served soon after we ordered, making us suspect if the food was pre-cooked. Breakfast (not buffet) has a few options only (Bread-jam/Uttapam/Puri-Bhaji) which were all freshly cooked. Food prices are average to high, we paid about Rs.3000 for three persons for dinner only. We had lunch outside. Prices Prices are unreasonable, people are charged very differently and the management does not care if you come or not (at least right now). Disappointing Pre-visit communication A few days back a friend had visited and stayed at Rs. 3300 all in (with breakfast) for 3 persons. When we called we were asked to pay Rs. 6000 or 6500 for two room categories. When we pointed out the discrepancy the GM was not bothered even to explain. He told us "We may have given for free also, but this is the best price for you now", and he said we must have confused with some other resort, but later confirmed this was the same resort when we showed him pictures from our friends visit. We were calling to book on the same day when we came but the GM of the resort did not really care whether anyone comes or not. They have many people coming at this time and don't need to talk much about it. However, times change and the attitude of the GM was not helping. The attitude was quite clear ... No body cares whether you're there or not. Rooms & maintenance Initially we were taken to Rm 201 which was not cleaned, finally We stayed in Room 203 for one night and this room is really good. TV had free channels only, AC was good, Telephone in some rooms do not work(which we found out later from other boarders), but from this room the phone was ok. Room service was fast and there was Mr Deepak (staff member) who kept asking us for well being, leaving a good impression. Sadly we missed him next morning when we came out. Check in/check out was simple. Thats all guys. That's my experience for this place

We had visited this resort with family members who are all aged. The first thing that struck us was that there is no Lift and we were allotted rooms in 2nd floor. Going up and down the stairs for the aged people was not very easy.Even the dining room had to be reached by climbing the stairs. 2ndly the amenities like the geyser and the door knobs were faulty. So instead of relaxing we had to call the staff every time to fix the things. The bed linen was also stained. On the 2nd day we were allotted rooms on the ground floor. The regulator of the fan was not working in the room, which again had to be fixed. At night the Ac of one of the rooms stated leaking which again had to be fixed. So it was more of calling the room service and fixing things rather than enjoying a relaxed holiday without any headache. On the positive side the staff were very helpful and polite, they attended to all our problems as soon as we complained. The basic Amenities of the resort are very faulty which needs immediate attention, otherwise the resort has a very beautiful view, the food is awesome.

Went there yesterday. The location and the hotel is good but the environment is totally unhealthy. Bunch of drunkards behaving like hooligans and drinking openly in the public pool. Certainly not a family place to be at. Moreover the pool is filthy dirty. However the location good and staff is satisfactory. Would not want to be there. Unfortunate night spent.

I have made confirmed booking vide above referred booking no. at Ruposhi Rupnarayan Kuthi for 28/03/2021. But unfortunately they have cancelled the same towards overpricing issue, as they are still available directly. So please don't make any booking through any travel partner specially on weekends or any occasion. As at any time the greedy management of this property can cancel your booking and harrass you even after reaching there.
