Lovely country Inn. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. The bedroom was comfortable warm, very clean and well stocked with tea and coffee. The food was excellent, portions were large. Needless to say we enjoyed our short break and we would certainly stay again.

Beautiful country inn with great home cooking, lovely warm rooms (November stay) and super staff. When we stayed we visited Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks and Ripon. It's worth having dinner there as we did each night.

Lovely comfortable pub, with a great atmosphere. The full English breakfast was substantial and we were well looked after. We also ate here in the evening, where again the food was delicious and portions generous. The pub itself is a little off the beaten track but quite easy to find and only a 5 minute drive off the A1. We spent two nights at the Bay Horse whilst holidaying in the area, and found it to be a friendly country pub, serving good food and ideal for exploring the Yorkshire dales, moors, or coast. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the hosts are friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent.

We decided to visit this inn as a stop off point on our way to Scotland. Once we had found the Inn along a country road all was ok. The food was unbelievable and was all home cooked and a good variety of choice. The land lord was very helpful and a character in himself making us very welcome during... More

Stayed here for one night and would definately return. The room was very clean with red hot water and more than enough tea and coffee on the hospitality tray. The breakfast was beautifully cooked. You order the night before and chose what time you want it so it's cooked fresh for you. We had a meal when we arrived and... More

Stayed for two nights at the end of July. Proprietor very friendly and helpful greeting us straight away and showing us to our room which was very clean and comfy with tea making facilities and very hot running water for shower etc. Good 'proper' pub food and a good all round good atmosphere. They ask you the night before what... More

We stayed here for one night en route from the West Midlands back to home in Northumberland, a journey we do very often. Having discovered this lovely village and the Bay Horse we definitely plan to return here. The landlord and staff are extremely welcoming and helpful and the place has a very cosy and friendly atmosphere. Our room was... More

Beef cooked to perfection as was the Lamb. Large yorkshire, roast potatoes and a big dish of veg to share. Sticky toffee pudding... More
