We ended our two week stay in Provence with two nights in the Camarque and relished the air conditioned rooms and the pool. Rooms were small but comfortable and relatively new; each had a small fridge and water bottles were provided. We opted for the breakfast each morning and found the usual offerings of fresh bread, ham, cheese, eggs and pastries. Only the fruit salad was terrible which is mystifying considering the abundance of amazing fruit available through the south during the summer; it tasted like it came from a can. Regardless, breakfast was convenient; there are no other restaurants within in walking distance from the Rizieres. Finally, the pool was perfect after a day exploring. We had a late departure after we checked out and were able to spend the afternoon poolside; we had it all to ourselves for most of the day. The hotel is an easy drive to the town center where you can find plenty of good restaurants, shopping and people watching.…
Very nice place, confortable room, although missing some hooks to hang towels or clothes. The swimming pool is a bless after a long day in the summer heat. Breakfast is ok according to South Europe standard.
A return visit to Saintes Maries and whilst last time we stayed at Mas de Barres this time we stayed at Les Rizieres which is just 2 km outside the center of Saintes Maries. Very nice people, rooms also nice. Bathroom could do with a little renovation but all working well. Nice pool also we did not had a swim yet. Can certainly recommend.
Some parking by most of the bedrooms but watch for the brackets protruding from the A/C units. All accesses and parking areas are surfaced with fine white dust which gets everywhere. Staff all very pleasant and accommodating, some speak some English The pool is a good size and is allegedly heated but the slabs around are uneven - care is needed. New loungers and other upholstered garden furniture with cushions, also parasols - all a bit improvement. The main access is down a full width ramp which is tiled hence slippery - it urgently needs a handrail down the centre as far as where the mater is adult waste deep. Come equipped for dealing with mosquitoes. The bedroom was just about adequate for size. No drawers, a small wardrobe with a space over containing spare blankets. A corner table but no socket nearby. Small refrigerator. Really only equipped for short stays since there is nowhere to store luggage. There is a garden table and two chairs outside each front entrance but adjacent smokers can be a problem since they are not far apart. The area between the front of the bedrooms and the breakfast room/reception area is largely crazy paved. Due to tree roots it is very crazily paved - plenty of trips. The bathroom had a shower over a bath but no brackets to hang up the shower head so you must hold it all the time you are using it. Loose toiletries. At breakfast visitors' dogs were about, some large and in numbers - not all well behaved. Good selection of items which were kept topped up.…
Staff were helpful. Location out of town was nice, although pack mozzie spray as its surrounded by water, and there were loads when we were there. The room was compact and functional with a clean, fully stocked bathroom (toiletries and soft towels) There was a mini bar, plenty of plug sockets, mosquito nets on all doors and windows, and lockable doors to both the front and rear of the room (it was possible to park outside the back entrance to the room, great for unpacking) It was quiet when we were there, but I can imagine if all rooms were full, it could get a bit cramped and noisy. The pool was set apart from the sleeping block. We didn’t go, but good to keep pool noise away from rooms! There was a buffet breakfast available for €10. We opted to drive down the road and pick up fresh bread and ate on the beach. Lunch and dinner can be eaten in or outside rooms (patio furniture outside room) plenty of shops to pick up supplies in town. It seemed very much kitted out for families on summer holidays (we were a couple on a road trip) The town itself is a proper resort, but go inland, and its beautiful and wild! We had a room with a mezzanine level, which would only be suitable for the young, but not too young, and those not suffering from vertigo as it was high with a low ceiling.…
We were travelling through France in a campervan during the whole of July. This coincided with a very, very hot period. By the time we reached the Carmargue we needed somewhere relaxed, comfortable and with A/C. We stumbled across this hotel and were absolutely delighted that we had. The welcome was charming, the rooms cool and stylish and the pool superb. We also had the breakfast in the morning, which was excellent. If you are looking for somewhere near Saints Marie, look no further. This would be a great choice.
After getting all the informations on the area thanks to the friendliest receptionist ever, I was taken to my room through a nice little garden. The room is a bit small but the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast in the morning was full of fresh bread, croissants and fruit. A lovely place to stay and a perfect base to explore the area (and you can chill by the pool when it gets too hot to roam around)
the location of the hotel is alright with a great pottery shop next door. Also, the setup of the hotel is interesting and is much better than of most hotels in the area. However, the room was rather run-down and not quite like the room we had seen in the pictures. If the rooms were refurbished, the place could be very nice, as the breakfast was alright and the staff was very friendly.
Location excellent with ornithological park and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer close at hand. Room OK with air conditioning: really appreciated the absence of mosquitoes! Provided with an excellent breakfast. Overall Good value. Thank you
Having stayed here previously we had a good idea what to expect. The new owners had done some work on the bedrooms, the bathrooms have been refurbished and the welcome pool is now heated. Access to the pool is tricky the full width ramp at the shallow end does not have any rails, not so good for older people. The staff are all pleasant and willing. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. We had a superior room which was just about large enough.for two for our five nights. Parking is good, generally you can park by the back door of your room making for easy access.
