We stayed for the second time and booked a family room. Perfect swimming-pool and the hotel is build in the Camergue style. Almost as a ranch with pool and a little water by the side. The break fast was very good ( but expensive). We visited the place because its right in middle of the national park and just bedsides some horse riding possibilities. The Hotel booked a horse trip for us.
We stayed here as part of a charity bike ride. We were fortunate enough to be part of the crew who had accommodation here as opposed to a gite on the other side of Malaucene. We brought of of the cyclists and crew here to eat and unwind, however, with having tackled Mount Ventoux earlier in the day. Laurence is an utterly gifted hostess. Nothing was too much of an issue for her and her staff. Engaging and interesting, Laurence was perfect for our group of tired and hungry cyclists. The setting is beautiful. We had the place to ourselves and had the fabulous court yard as our dining room. It was the perfect end to what was a hard day in the saddle. The rooms themselves were beautiful .Our room was huge with views over the court yard and grounds to the front. Some parts were a little "shabby-chic" but I love that unpretencious element of this property. It really felt like being a guest of the host rather than a hotel client. The food was great, although perhaps a little refined for our cyclists who just wanted to refuel with simple carbs. The bar was limited to a couple of boxes of wine and a few kegs of bier blonde, which were consumed all too quickly. It was done on an honesty bar basis which was fabulous, however. We have already said that we are going to visit with less lycra and for longer. We honestly cannot wait to stay here again!…
An average hotel that does not live up to the photos on its website. Not enough pool chairs for the number of clients, overheated swimming pool, lack of in-house dining options, ants crawling all over the rooms, lack of reaction of staff when advised of this, and disdainful attitude of some staff, made for a not very pleasant stay. On the positive side: spacious parking, comfortable rooms, short distance to village centre and tasty breakfast.
nice rooms, good breakfast, amazing location! everything you need when visiting saintes maries de la mer. but stay long enough. this is the perfect place to unwind from a busy job. i really like the fresh orange juice at breakfawt
We are a family of three and we had a wonderful week in the Mas De Cocagne, rooms are very comfortable and silent, right in the nature, few minutes walking from the seaside and the village. The owner is super kind and gave us precious recommendation about activities to be done and restaurant. The hotel is cleaned, great breakfast and wonderful warmed pool.
Lovely boutique hotel ideally situated at the entry of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Village is easily accessible by foot or bike. The kids loved the pool and the rooms/bungalows were spacious, clean & beautifully decorated. Thanks to the staff for their great advice on excursions & restaurants.
This hotel is well located right outside of Saintes Marie de la mer. You can reach the center/town by foot within 10 minutes. When we arrived there the staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They also provide you with restaurant tips in St. Marie. The room was very spacious, had a nice terrace, coffee machine and all the nice amenities. The bed was large and comfy. The room was spotless clean as well! The only downside was, that you can hear the road and cars quite good especially in the night – but I have a good sleep so I didn’t bother me really. Another good thing was the breakfast – very nice buffet and good variety! All in all it was a very pleasant and relaxing stay in a beautiful hotel with staff and owners which are exceptionally friendly. Would stay there again any time when I’m in the region!…
We went here for a 4-days stay. The place is nice, located at 10' walk form the center of Saintes Marie, a bit too near to the main road so that some noise can be heard, especially at night. Just a personal remark. We used this as a base for visit the Camargue, maybe this hotel is more intended for people who prefer to spend the most of the day inside. In effect it seemed that most of the people were "habitues". The swimming pool was small but heated and the jacuzzi is very nice. The owner explained us a lot about the activities, restaurants ... (and we were happy with his suggestions!). Maybe should be improved the cleaning (we found also a T-shirt of the previous customer in our room) and a refrigerator in the room would have been welcomed. We had a family room and we had no problem about the space, but it could have been too small with the children. Maybe 4* is a little bit too severe, but when you spend 250€/night (w/o breakfast) in my opinion all should be perfect.…
We were given a very warm welcome, all staff were very friendly and most helpful. Lovely pool area for those wishing to sun rather than see the sights of the village and the Camargue. Lovely room, prestige suite. Room was very clean and well and tastefully furnished with a comfortable bed. Free wifi, AC Breakfast was well presented around the pool in the morning. We would certainly return here.
We had such a wonderful, relaxing stay at Mas De Cocagne. My eight year old described it as “resort meets bed&breakfast” and that is exactly how it feels. The staff are wonderful. Most guests in the 20 rooms were French but they made every effort to not make us feel out of place as Americans. It has a family feel to it. The pool area is top notch. Walking distance to the nearest town and 60-90 minutes to most of the Provence towns. The interior decor of our room (20) was beautiful and welcoming. There is a small breakfast buffet available and a light poolside lunch till 2:30. Wonderful stay lf 4 nights and would have gladly stayed longer.
