This is a real find just a couple of kms from a highly popular resort area. Rooms are clean, comfortable and have aircon. Bathroom is modern. Good pool area with plenty of space to relax. Hotel interior is cool and relaxing. Excellent value breakfast; good set-price dinner. The young owners just couldn't be more helpful or friendly. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again in a heartbeat !
We arrived earlier than expected and asked if we could leave our luggage and without hesitation they took it from us and we found it in our room when we checked in. Reception and staff were so very welcoming and escorted us to our room which had a little outside space with a table and 2 chairs and a drier for clothes or swimsuits. The room was spotlessly clean and large. The bathroom was also lovely with a strong shower head. Breakfast was very varied and the cakes were different each day. Supplies were topped up immediately so there was never an empty plate. It was nice to have the choice of taking breakfast indoors or outdoors. Parking in front of ones room was also a great thing, luggage from the boot straight to your room. Security with a coded gate gave one reassurance too. The pool was clean and had easy access from all rooms. We will definitely be going back as it was such a lovely stay - so much to do all within easy reach of the hotel. Riding can be booked through the hotel (highly recommended) bikes for hire endless restaurants and lovely walks near the beach. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful Beatrice.…
We stayed for 2 nights. Nice clean room, charming & friendly Owner. The menu & wine list are limited but very nice nonetheless. We enjoyed dinners on the terrace around the pool. Good location; close to Saintes Maries de la Mer and the Ornithological reserve at Pont de Gau.
This was my second visit to this hotel. On the first visit I was alone and I wanted to return with my family. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the tranquility of the place and hospitality of the owners. The pool and garden are very relaxing and dinner and breakfast were very good. I wish I’ll be able to return.
We stayed at La Tramontane for two nights in early August. What a delightful experience. Everything about this hotel was great. Its out of town location was peaceful and we could be in town in five minutes. Nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly and helpful staff - even to the extent of mailing a shirt our son had left behind to our home address. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The Saturday night dinner and flamenco entertainment was thoroughly enjoyable. The pool and surround perfect for relaxing. I could go on ...Why not find out for yourselves? Stay there.
It was lovely to be back at this hotel, beatrice the owner was very pleased to see us and made us very welcome, we had room 24 very near the pool, breakfast was as usual very good, the staff are very friendly and happy to help, we did not have dinner in the hotel as we wanted to catch up with friends in the town. The pool and sun loungers were especially inviting as it was very hot. Thank you again to the lovely owners of this very special hotel.
A charming time at this hotel. Rooms are nice, comfortable and clean but far and away the owner of this hotel was outstanding. We traveled with a group and rented the entire property. Our host exceeded our expectations. The food was great and the hospitality was even better. The staff made us feel at home.
This hotel was initially difficult to locate because there is no sign post on the end of the road which our Sat Nav led us too. After a couple of circuits, we had to call the hotel in the end and then it was possible. According to the hotel staff. the neighbouring restaurant 'won't allow a sign' at the Sat Nav end of the road! What? The other end of the road is signposted. We were having a lovely stay enjoying the charming rooms and gardens and were generally falling in love with the Camargue. The pretty good sized room with its nice toiletries and separate toilet, kettle and drinks sachets (but no milk), offered a very pleasant prospect. Bird song was punctuating the warm silence. Good internet. In our relaxed holiday mode, we hadn't noticed the prohibition forbidding guests to eat or drink anything other than what the hotel provides which was posted on the room door. See photo. Confusingly smoking is also prohibited by a notice next to the food prohibition on the back of the door but an ash tray was supplied (see photo). Their published 'special meal' which we had actually planned to consume there had been cancelled because their entertainers were on leave and their normal menu didn't appeal to us. It was a good menu but we just weren't 'in the mood' and considered we were not hungry enough for a proper meal. We had the remains of our picnic so we decided then to finish that off. Big mistake. As we sat smiling and relaxing on our verandah the hotel owners politely, but sternly approached us at 8.00pm to reprimand us for eating our own (honestly minimal picnic) food of left over half baguette bread and a bit of Roquefort cheese. Guess there's a first time for everything and given that we are senior citizens with a combined total of 133 years of staying in hotels in upwards of 72 countries world-wide, we have never experienced such a personal reprimand in a professional hotel environment. We're normally very obedient people and we did immediately apologize! Although slightly embarrassed we felt that this rule is kind of understandable in terms of reducing this lovely place's income but it nevertheless represented an unwelcome and in our humble opinion, an unnecessary interference to the guest experience and a step too far. 'Given that we were booked in for one night only and given that our host said that he would forgive our transgression for that night, was it really worth the management risking offending us 'old folks' and it being the focus of our now negative review was it? The manager shared that guests consuming food was a recurring problem for the hotel. We would therefore seriously recommend that the management consider including a reminder of this absolute rule in their booking information and during their introductory tour OR they just increase the hotel charges and make their stays 'Full Board' to avoid such problems and obvious public relations conflict arising with their clientele. Now, instead of enjoying this lovely hotel, we'll primarily take away a memory inappropriately soured by a live 'ticking off'. We paid £79.00 for our double room via Booking.com so if one wants to eat in, with a 3 course dinner costing around €40pp and breakfast €11pp, customers should be aware that would total about £160 for an overnight stay making this an expensive place to stay and not worth that much even with it being a nice place. Until this change of policy happens, while still somewhat smarting from the negative experience, rather reluctantly, we cannot in all honesty rate this potentially lovely 4* small hotel more highly than the 3* we have given it. £160 for 2 people for one night for 3*. Think again? Sorry. Oops....…
Stayed here for two nights and could not fault it. Very clean and such friendly staff. The rooms are set in a horseshoe shape around a pond ( beware Knats) but the doors have bug mesh fitted. Small outside patio areas for most rooms. Swimming, pool and comfy beds surround it. Restaurant serves good quality food, breakfast is fine with added extras of homemade breads and cakes. Would suggest that more coffee and tea sachets are put out, just two are not really enough , and creamers would also be welcome ( kettle and sachets supplied) Overall a really pleasant place to stay well recommended.
Much better & more reasonably priced meal than in the centre of St Maries. Nice, quiet restaurant with lovely food, wine & good, pleasant service. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Waiter was very pleasant & attentive & didn't mind our broken French
