Although it gives the impression of being a hotel,it is abed&breakfast place in an antique building. Reception is friendly and there is a private parking in the garden. English spoken. Breakfast isnot included but against payment can be ordered. Each room is differently decorated in a certein theme.

Au Paravent is housed in an amazing building. The high ceilings and huge windows give it an air of times gone by. It is furnished in keeping with the age of the house and three bedrooms are available as B and B. We looked at two and although very different both had so much character we chose the one with... A beautifully-restored home with high ceilings, attention-to-detail décor and a warm, friendly, interesting hostess, Isabelle. We stayed in the Viviane Romance room (born in Roubaix, she was a French actress who began her career at the Moulin Rouge, was Miss Paris 1930 and made her film debut in 1931). Our room came with the most enormous bed I've ever slept... More

This hotel is delightful. It's more like a B&B, but on a larger scale as the house is very large and grand. The owner was very welcoming and I was made to feel at home straight away. Each room is decorated individually and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into every single detail. My room had a... More

I stayed at Au Paravent for a week-end but I would have stayed for a week! Great hospitality, nice and styled rooms, relaxing atmosphere, excellent breakfast and brunch, quiet neighborhood, close to subway and bus. A very cute cat completes the opera. no doubts, I would return here definitely!! I already miss it. Enjoy it!

From the hospitality Isabelle showed us to the grandeur of the house itself, the bedroom and the delicious breakfast, we couldn't ask for more. We had the Isabeau Chambre which is large, tastefully decorated, and has a king-size four-poster bed. Isabelle is warm and welcoming, speaks good English, and was very friendly and helpful (eg giving us a map of... More

We stayed in the room named Isabeau de Roubaix. Sorry to spoil the positive feast of previous reviews ( those that made us chose this place ). Our experience there wasn't positive. The pros first : Very quite neighbourhood. Walking distance to Metro station, about 600 m ( about 1970 feet or 655 yard ). Free parking. Large flat screen... More

This is a very nice bed and breakfast where no detail is overlooked. Coffee making facilities that make real coffee; remarkable jams for breakfast; amazing bedrooms; off-street parking; wonderful decoration and furnishings; an extremely friendly hostess who will help with anything. As long as you do not need to be in the centre of Lille it is worth staying at... More

After 1 day @ AuParavent, I didn't want to leave. Isabelle is a special person, very kind and welcoming, with a strong good taste for beautiful things and details. Inside, her property looks like one of those "palaces" always described in fairytales. At the time I visited, the Watteau room didn't exist yet, so I stayed in the Viviane Romance's... More

The purpose of my stay was to visit a relative critically ill in a nearby hospital. In those circumstances, I greatly apreciated the warmth of the welcome I received Au Paravent. The grand old town house is situated in a quiet street, a 2 minute walk away from a bus and tram stop, the nearest metro is 3 minutes away.
