There is a little coincidence here. We have "our" Hotel Maubeuge in Paris. We have stayed there so many times that we felt compelled to stay also in the city of Maubeuge and when we found this good-looking hotel with a parking lot just in front of it, we parked, walked in and talked to a friendly receptionist who got us a good room with a good bath-room.
Slept well and breakfast was above-average. With all you need to start a long day.
We also visited the restaurant "L'Endroit" - a pleasant evening - but that's another story ...

Stayed here for a number of weeks now, and very much prefer this hotel to the Ibis in Maubeuge. On the negative side the breakfast is basic, and could do with some improvement, but the hotel’s positives make up for this. The staff are very friendly, from the receptionist through to the restaurant and bar staff. The food is good and the restaurant is quite often busy with outside customers, as well as guests. Restaurant staff are polite, friendly and a credit to the hotel. The owners, who also own Piccolo Mondo restaurant, and their family also all make a point of coming across to greet customers and guests, even coming across to us when we were sat out of the way in the bar area.
The rooms are a decent size, showers good, and in good weather the terrace rooms have a nice area to sit out on and relax.

Stayed whilst on a business trip and was impressed by the comfort and attention that the staff give you. Clean and well appointed basic rooms, free wifi and water, toiletries etc, but it is the staff that really make a difference to this place - warm and welcoming, the owner is very proud of his hotel and all the staff make a real effort to create a personal atmosphere. Food in the restaurant is also very good.

We had booked a room for two people. When we arrived we found that the room had only been made for one person. We informed reception who assured us that they would do what was necessary… nothing done so just one linen, just one cup, just one coffee… so it’s worth… one!

I booked the hotel and paid everything through Hotels.com, but when I checked out they charged me full price for the hotel. They say they haven't received a payment before and asked for a receipt, which I emailed them. It's been more than two weeks since I checked out and they stopped responding my emails and refuse to refund me. They also charged 9 euro every day for breakfast even though I only had breakfast one out of four days. They claim they asked me about breakfast when I checked in, but I'm 100% sure they didn't. Their English is really bad and the staff is really unhelpful. Stay away from this place.

I was not expecting anything memorable from our stay here but it turned out to be memorable for the wrong reasons. The bar and restaurant staff had no patience and were at times plain rude. The main issue was the lack of Wifi at the hotel, after daily complaints which brought shrugs of the shoulders and bewildered looks of confusion we gave up. This is terrible as we expect fast Wifi at any hotel 3 star and above there were many business people staying there and I can't believe a hotel would such a poor internet service, they just did not care. Good points were the food was ok, rooms were clean but no air-conditioning. Would not recommend this hotel.

Huge depression in the matress which gave a pain in my back and neck and made us both falling into the middle of the bed. Mosquitos harassing us for a whole night although we were waking up several times for a "hunting" and each time hoping that the insect we killed is the last one. my partner and I have many bites which are still reminding us about "Le Grand Insomnia". The re were good aspects about the hotel but unfortunatelly they are not as significant where you wake up tired and dissapointed in the morning.

Myself and colleagues stayed during June 2017. The hotel restaurant is excellent, with good food at a reasonable price. My room on the first floor had a balcony overlooking the road. The room was quiet. Sadly we had to check out early so missed out on breakfast.

This is a really nice hotel.. in a bit of a tired looking town, the restaurant is excellent and they did us a deal on the room which made for excellent value.

The town itself has little to offer except boy racers and blocks of flats.. but as a stop over on the Belgian border I would recommend a night here and a meal in the restaurant

Unappealing from the outside, this hotel is perfectly satisfactory and not expensive. Recently renovated, the rooms are spacious, functional, very quiet (triple glazing perhaps), with new beds and are scrupulously clean. The bathrooms are also modernised and pleasant. Adjustable heating in both rooms.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is good with excellent croissants and other pasties and breads. The restaurant in the evening is very popular indeed: very copious servings.

Bonjour, C'est une bonne brasserie, les prix sont corrects. Ils propose un menu le soir pour ceux qui dorment à l'hôtel. C'est une bonne formule.
