- good location - weared and teared lobby and rooms - staff speaks practically no English - poor breakfast (terrible coffee!) - no air-condition in room - slow free wifi - garage; you have to get the key and code at the hotel

My partner and I stayed here in 2010 after coming down from trekking in the Pyrenees, and were delighted to fond this friendly and welcoming hotel in Cauterets. My partner is an excellent cook and loved the food which was just wjat we needed after a few days a thousand metres up in the mountains. The room was lovely, the... More

I'm sat in my 90€ a night room, in my coat and freezing; no heating. We were told EDF cut the power for a few hours each evening and it will not come on till 8.30pm. This is our second room. In our first room, 117 the leg was literally falling off the double bed; we asked for it to... More

Cauterets is a lovely ski-resort with quite some historic buildings from early previous century, stayed with a group of 20-30 people mid-July during a cycling tour and our stay/experience can be summarized in 1 word: excellent. Excellent accomodations, excellent restaurant & food in the restaurant and by far EXCELLENT staff: very customer friendly, always helpful, with a smile ... making... More

Basic hotel, friendly staff, garage for motorbikes. Rooms geared for multiple ski party occupancy, didn't get chance to use the Balneo Spa facility so can't comment. Whole place felt very 'out of ski season', the town too, very little open. Ok but unless skiing, wouldn't recommend.

Stayed for 1 night (April 2012). Big confusion over car parking + not terribly helpful receptionists made check-in very difficult. Accomodation clean but more basic than we like. Our room was next to a Fire Door in the corridor, which caused lots of noise throughout. Location good - very central. Didn't get to use the pool due to late'ish arrival... More

Supposedly a family friendly hotel catering for children and having pool and games room etc. However meals begin at seven thirty pm on the dot. At that point the waiting area is choc a bloc with noisy families with hungry and tired children doing all they can to keep them going until this relatively late mealtime. All complaining about the... More

Cauterets is a typical mountain village that fails to live up to its potential. The location, at the head of the valley and a ten minute drive to Pont d'Espagne, one of the most attractive sites in the French Pyrennees, would lead one to expect a lively tourist town with many restaurants and shops and good hotels. Unfortunately, the town... More

We had planned a stay over for two nights in Cauterets to go hiking in the Pyrenees, but decided to skip it entirely when we saw the place, and in particular the Hotel Aladin! Maybe the bad weather didn't help, but Cauterets came across as a run-down, completely charmeless mountain village, which might have seen better days in the seventies,... More
