We stayed here for 2 nights, very last minute reservation and we needed to bring our little dog. We had an excelent stay here in this charming hotel. The hotel is situated next to a very nice park and some shops etc. The town itself is a little small town in Brabant, The netherlands. Close to Breda, Tilburg and 's Hertogenbosch that you can visit. The staff was very helpful in finding a bar that was open till late in the evening and the food in the restaurant was very nice. As we had our dog with us we ate all of our meals there. Breakfast was very good and served at our table due to Covid-19
In the first go, I passed the hotel as I only saw flags with "Winkk" and I didn't realise that "De Villa" (hotel) is actually the same as "Winkk" (restaurant). But after entrance you are positively amazed! Beautiful castle, yet very modern and comfortable rooms. Excellent service. A hidden gemstone I would say.
Very nice and stylish place. Silent town with excellent climate. Hotel De Villa is situated near by shops, parks, restaurants with connection to buses. What I liked the most is nice atmosphere, large/high rooms with high standard, looks of building, and positive attitude of hotel staff. I was surprised when I saw kettle with tea and coffee in my room, I used it a lot so I think is very nice addition to equipment. Many of you will be interested about internet and I admit it was fine. I enjoyed staying there 5 days and I hope you will enjoy as well :)
Generally (always) stay here for business trips. Clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms in this small, family run hotel. Friendly and attentive staff. Always has a "home from home" feel to it. I would rate the hotel side very good. The restaurant is variable though. The last evening meal I had was poor. Previously it was excellent. Maybe the cook has changed or something, or to give an otherwise great place the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was just an off day.
I organized a dinner for 24 people in restaurant Winkk, located in hotel De Villa, and decided to stay two nights in the hotel. It is an early 20th-century mansion built by the then probably richest person in the village, a leather manufacturer. The building and surrounding park are very nice and certainly pertain to Dongen´s cultural heritage. The restaurant is pretty good and breakfast is very nice on the terrace overlooking the park. The hotel is quite acceptable. True, the elevator is from a storage facility or something like that, excruciatingly slow, but that seems to be part of the attraction. I got a room on the top floor, not much of a view, but pretty okay. The outstanding feature of the hotel is its location. Right in the center of Dongen. If you ever have to stay there, this is the place.…
Beautiful villa on 15 minutes drive from The Efteling. Room was charming, not too big, but cosy. There is a restaurant downstairs which is good. The reception staff is also the restaurant staff. As we arrived around dinner time, we had to wait a couple of minutes before they noticed us. They did asked us straight away if we wanted to have dinner, because it was busy and a table was reserved straight away, which was good service. Rooms were a bit noisy, but this goes with the age of the building.
Very nice building, great Tavern with excellent food (diner and breakfast) and service. The room was very comfortable except for the temperature. The bathroom was clean and big enough. We've enjoyed our stay very much and certainly planning on returning next year for a night or two...we will use it as our 'base camp' to explore the surrounding cities like Delft....i'm looking forward to it already!
Difficult to get the luggage up the entrance stairs. Elevator old & very slow. Started with Room 10:small & cramped. Switched to 15-not much better. No AC-room hot & stuffy. Beds very small. 2nd night-guests noisy in hallway woke me up @ 1 am--absolutely no sound proofing. No key for my room safe. The cupboard had not been dusted in weeks .Lighting in bathroom very poor-difficult to shave. Shower tiny--kept bumping the glass doors. No Kleenex? Breakfast sparse. Was nice to try-won't be back!
Building with character and a very nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Pleasant bar/restaurant area and breakfast is good. Lovely rooms, but unfortunately we didn't sleep well, because the bed was really small (130 cm). Pity.
I have recently traveled to this beautiful hotel in the South of the Netherlands. My arrival was very pleasant, and the people were very friendly. Room was very spacious and clean! The food in the attached restaurant was also very good and fresh! Would definitely recommend this place!
